I love that when the bird hit the window, you didn’t break out of English lol. I would have thought your exclamations would always be in Japanese. But you stayed in teacher mode!

You churn out such high quality instructive videos. Great way to get started in learning the language and avoiding the often stilted "kore-wan-hon-desu" approach. When you said, "The bird hit my window!" I can't help thinking of the bird tweeting "Atamaga itaii desu!"

You are gorgeous..thank you so much for this clear explanation. I do have a question that... ***たことがある could be used in the same meaning with the ***てた one??
@kernfel5 жыл бұрын
〜たことがある doesn't describe an ongoing or habitual action, it only describes having done ~ at some point in the past. This is perhaps clearer when you turn it into a question: X したことがありますか? roughly translates to "Have you ever done X?" ... or, at any rate, that's my understanding of it.
@aozora_2k4 жыл бұрын
While pronouncing しっています... Why isn't there an emphasis on て. Should it be like a tt sound because of the っ before it? I thought it would be pronounced at shitteimasu(and Google translate also said the same...which I don't usually trust for translations)....but apparently not.

あの鳥、かわいそう!子供の時、競泳してた。Why is it 努める when it's for Toyota but 働く when it's for a cafe? Is it because one's full-time and one's part-time?
@mrjam67215 жыл бұрын
Cafe is a place, and Toyota is a company.
@susie22515 жыл бұрын
Tsutomeru should be used wherever you could replace “work for” with “am employed by”. Hataraku is simply “to work”, ie to actually perform work. Theoretically, you should be able to use both verbs with both Toyota and cafe depending on what you are trying to say. “I work for Toyota” = tsutomeru. “I worked in Toyota’s offices today.” = hataraku. “I work for that cafe” = tsutomeru. “Yesterday, I worked at the cafe.” = hataraku
