Sally Winston, PsyD, discusses some commonly held beliefs about anxiety disorders that are mostly or partially false, including why reducing stress, thinking positive thoughts, gaining insight about its origins, and lots of reassurance often do not really help much in reducing significant symptoms of anxiety. @@ivannovoselac3518 you never really overcome anxiety it’s just about understanding it. We fear what we don’t know but when we understand it’s here to protect us and not harm us the chronic anxiety goes away

hello from Chile, I'm trying hard to learn English to be able to enjoy your content, it's just great, in Latin America this way of seeing anxiety doesn't exist, I've suffered from generalized anxiety disorder for a long time, I've tried multiple therapies and nothing has worked; for which what you speak makes a lot of sense to me, I am very grateful for its content. If you can recommend a book on the same topic, I would really appreciate it.

Here is a question (please reply) Does allowing the thought to be there and do it's thing (and after sometime getting numb to it), transform your brain physically and therefore your reaction to that specific event if it ever happened in real. I don't want to be emotion less and numb to it if it ever happen in real... I want to be angry and express myself totally. I don't want to change who I am for a intrusive thought.

So recovered means that we can reduce anxiety to our baseline (like before disorder occurs). But because we have genetic tendency to anxiety disorders we can be sentitized again?
