A list of really common plants I can’t find as readily in my country, because we don’t use tissue culture for our plants.
I hope this makes you have a deeper appreciation for tissue culture and plants your always see at your Big Box Stores, cause some of them are really rare here
Why I had to sell my plants : • How my African family ...

Sir you are bit only a hobbyist with very well grown plants, a successful procurer and consultant of olants for others but your sense of humor is sublime.

The note pad has really been put to great use these couple of days 🤣🤣. Oh wow , I don’t even mind paying the extra if I can find some of these plants online here . A large part of my collection of plants , had to be shipped in from Europe. Lol mind blowing

Ohhhh wish I could send you some but I'm afraid they'll die. I got all the tc plants cause I literally lived next to a tissue culture farm that was affiliated with the local garden centre. I live in the Netherlands. I got my Ficus Lyrata for 10 dollar. I got all the rare trailing plants too, usually fresh tc babies all under 5 euro's. Sometimes they aren't very viable and take long to grow. 😭

Wow you are so lucky! I’m truly amazed about how the Netherlands, so small can be so fruitful and productive. When I watch plant shopping videos from there , I’m blown away by how cheap plants are there and the amazing variety!

I think the problem with the pothos is how common it is. It grows wild everywhere here in Lagos, making it difficult to sell as folks just assume they would get cuttings free anywhere

My ficus elastica had taken 6 months to give me 2 tiny leaves. My green ficus hasnt given me any. Iove them but Ill be an old lady before it gives me anything of substantial size 😂

I was running here to tell you Ugwu is a trailing plant, and it is commercially available but I paused to google the difference between trailing and climbing plants and apparently there is a difference, so I rest my case.

Hi, I feel so bad cause in North America I could get you any kind of Pothos for 3 to 6 dollars. Ok the black pot is too large I would down size it til you have a larger root system and then slowly add in more and more rooted cuttings down the line. I'd only go with a pot one inch larger then the root system. I'd add in a ton of worm castings to it as well. Now if you trail its leaves upwards they grow larger they do grow smaller trailing downwards by those guys love love to grow and they grow quickly so give it a year and you can build yourself 5 more plants. I saw your Agelonema video and about fell out of the chair on the sheer size of those. I have never in my life seen such happy Ags omg I was jealous yours look like kigs and queens in a planter.

The rick rack does take time I got three on clearance at the end of summer and potted it up in cactus soil and worm casting mix and threw them in a pot in full sun. They took off and I got a million arms but the weird thing is it takes time for the rick rack ridges to appear on them. I would say only now are mine starting to form a pattern to them its a wakcy plant lol.

I don't think most of pothos in the US are tissue cultured. You may not have meant they were, but just in case some people get confused, every pothos I have ever bought in the US were originally cuttings that rooted. I don't think I have found any that were not cuttings when I repotted them and looked at the stems. I wonder if the slow growing ones might be tissue cultured though (like the pothos n'joy). It's so interesting what is easy to find and what isn't. In the US it is really hard to find aglaonema other than 3 kinds. Some we have to ship in from Asia because no one in the US even has them. You had some aglaonema I have never even heard of and can't even find online in the US. Hoya are pretty expensive in most places here too. I have only seen 3 kinds in stores, and it is not consistent. There were a few more at plant nurseries but they only had 2 leaf cuttings for a lot of money (at least where I live).

Those are not trailing plants, they are climbing plants. And all of these plants grow better up a pole better than trailing because it is how they grow in nature, up the trees, and it is everywhere not only where you live.
