Some of my favourite cues or teaching in olympic lifts has been Zack and you guys telling to basically forget the hip contact and practice the vertical bar path. It really made me forget trying to be cute with all kinds of snakey movements. After doing muscle snatches and no contact drills focusing on vertical movement I noticed it felt really effortless and smooth in a way, it felt more correct. The hip contact will come more naturally after that when it's just the kiss on the top to finish the movement. It just somehow prevents a lot of mess in the starting position, knee movement and hip swing and unnecessary pull if you focus on vertical movement, straight arms and dropping/pushing yourself under the bar. You don't even have to think about most of what those movements are made of when you do that, suddenly you don't feel like you need to pull the bar very high and it doesn't crash on you because you end up efficiently under the bar anyway. Obviously it's not perfect by a hobbyist, but it improves how the movement feels so much.

It would be very cool if you could do more strength standarts videos. Especially trying to inform us why one would strive to get those numbers and why those where chosen, maybe give the big 3+ snatch/clean/power/pushpress/press for beginner to more advanced. I primarily focus on power snatches/cleans but want to compare myself to others and know where I'm at altough my primary focus are martial arts I still try to invest at least 40% in weightlifting. Otherwise great video altough as a judoka/wrestler I'm very disappointed with the emphasis on bjj in the last videos altough I understand that if the primary goal is weightlifting and bjj is just an add it is more friendly to the overall progress to both in comparison to the more time/ energy consuming martial arts

Are you aware that the video is frozen from 11:45 to 12:45? Nice video in all other regards :) *(nevermind guess it was intentional with how seamlessly it turned back on after you were done talking, didn’t watch to the very end)
