Yep. Accidentally hit the k-key and after I got tired of seeing the background lines (it was useful for a while) I eventually found a way to turn them off. Never knew until now that it's the "K" key which turns this on. Very good to know.

I wonder why you move the model to the Origin with the mouse rather than using the absolute move. Just hit the square key; then the open and close brackets appear, and you can type in [0,0,0] This action moves the selcted point to the origen with the rest of the model

A quick way to set a group back to the original is enter a left square bracket then 0,0,0 then return.

why no happy? the shadows in tool !skyline so more natural in the main view. about !isometric views: only used in technical design.
