Hello Richard! This problem is common in every country. When I learn something new in English or in any other language I try to listen carefully and remember the word order. Many times I also make mistakes because my tongue is quicker than my mind, but I correct myself and try to speak more slowly. Ahoj 🙂

I am sure this could also be a problem for non-Czech English learners, however, I am targeting these videos at Czech learners of English simply because all of my experience is teaching English to Czech students so I am familiar with the specific problems they have. @@LearnCzechwithRich Of course it was useful. I live in Croatia and we also many times translate word by word or we translate whole frases into English. The most common wrong frase is - I have 37 years. I do have that much of years in my body , but correct form is - I'm 37, or I'm 37 years old. My English is still bad, but when I listen our local tourist guides, that is a disaster. 🙂

May I ask a question? Proč se, ty vole, ptáš, jestli se můžeš zeptat na otázku? Vždyť už se ptáš! A na co jiného by ses ptal, než na otázku? Just a joke. Translation word by word is often funny.
