Maybe add that this is not just for hotels, but for anywhere that is not your actual home. "I stayed in the family cottage this summer". But, if you do it repeatedly, then it can become a second home "I live in the family cottage in the summer"".

Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment, you make a valid point! The line between staying and living can at times be quite subtle. I think I should have said "stay" for anything that "isn't your actual home" - I like the way you worded that
