This sentence sounds weird to me in both languages. (I am a native speaker of czech.) Is weird mixture of two possibilites, how to spend a weekend. 1) "Last weekend I spent at my / the cottage. (Minulý víkend jsem byl / strávil na chatě.) 2) "Last weekend I went camping. (Minulý víkend jsem strávil kempováním / pod stanem.) (the last part is literally spent camping or spent under the tent) I think the best option for czechs is the word "countryside". Country sounds like a whole state, but countryside, you can translate into czech as "venkov", which creates an image in your head that you are OUT of the city, you are surrounded by a lot of animals, plants and for sure you are on fresh air. :-)

But, is "i Love the beauty of the countryside" akward?
