Every year or so I purge items that don’t sell and maybe have a garage sale or just donate. I stated doing this 3 years ago with $400 and make an average of 3k a month. I don’t sweat items that don’t sell or collect dust. Ebay has never been guaranteed money but once you get good the money you make will always surpass the money that sits.

I always rationalize...if I took 1 dollar and put it in a bank saving acct I am lucky to get 1% interest. If I buy an item for 1.00 and sell it for 5 or 10 dollars,even if it takes a year...I am way ahead of the game!! I sell at a large local yardsale that happens once a dear and even if I make .50 over the 1.00 I aid for an item.I am still ahead of bank interest.....and enjoy what I am doing!!

The only way to reduce your inventory is to STOP thrifting. (or trickle down) Rework the items you have and sell the stuff you have been keeping cause you liked it. And watch your bank account grow.

Thanks for the video. I am a new part-time reseller as of 2024. It's just common sense to know that reselling is not easy and it's going to take work to make is successful. If it was that easy, everyone would do it! Thanks for your channel, I have been using it and other channels to "study" before I starting reselling. Watching you and others helped to educate myself before I actually started reselling, which I think is very important. Never apologize for educating the reselling community, we need it!

Reselling is hard man, I have a box here worth 2500$. All brand new Blu rays, dvd & video games, all sealed. What they would see is a video of the box and a chat about it, and that I paid 40$ for the box. What they wouldn't see is all the time Its going to take to post over 150 titles.

I'm only a part time reseller, but a full time professor and I will say sarcasm can be an effective tool with students if you use it right and sparingly and you did just that. I had a fun time laughing along with you while you made your "non-points". I recently sold something that's been sitting around for 4 years and only made a few bucks. Many people would think that's not worth it, but it was fun and I still felt excited when it sold. There are worse hobbies to have.. at least mine pays me ;)

Not every item turns out to be a jackpot seller but if I can still make a couple bucks on a item and most of all get a positive feedback out of it and possibly creating a repeat customer I consider that a win. Unexpected sale of items you thought you be stuck with forever are the best. Picked up a big assortment of nautical theme paper napkins thought it take months to move, within a week someone purchased them all for a yacht club event.

Fairly new to reselling and seeing my mistakes and learning from them. I don’t think you over hype it. I buy a lot of hats to sell. Part of it is watching you do it but the main reason is I love hats. I do same for DVDs and cds and cassettes. They don’t make much money and they are slow but I enjoy those items. Anyway, we’ve gone from 500 the first month net profit to about 1500 or more in march. The learning helps and watching you helps. Thank you!!!

Also, the market changes and you have to adjust your price of the item to fit the current market price. I learned in 2023 for me, that you must crosslist on other platforms to be successful in reselling. I sell on 6 platforms in order to reach as many customers as possible.

Those blue willow dishes were sold in grocery stores years ago - every time you spent a certain amount, the store gave out stamps to accumulate to be able to purchase the dishes at a discount! I think it was in the 90s. No matter what they are still pretty dishes!

I cznnot afford the everything will eventually sell mantra. I live in NYC, as you know...our sq feet is deeply reduced and renting storage units sometimes is half the rent/mortgage most of you have living in more affordable state/city. When I source, I have to rely a lot on sell-thru-rate, I sometimes endulge getting items that eventually will sell when high margins are on play, but I'm only speaking about my own situation. I cannot afford storing items for that long until it sells. I'm not even go with the money invested tie to it...that is a different conversation.

If new resellers are sending you those comments it is likely because they are buying things they shouldn't. I did that when I first started. I go along with the saying don't buy just to buy. Now buy things that sell for much more and pass on a lot of things that earn minimal amounts. I don't buy as much stuff as I used to, but it sells much faster and for more.

I am not one to criticize you. I am amazed at all the crap you are able to sell. Reselling isn't for everyone. I have tried for a couple of years, but, I am lousy at it. Once in awhile I hit a home-run, but, for the most part, I have made a lot of bad purchases and they are sitting in my spare bedroom collecting dust. The problem with new resellers is they're trying to make a million dollars a month and they get mad when they don't and they quit, one main thing I learned from watching KZbin ebay resellers is to take everything that they say with a grain of salt cause I tried all of thier 'ways' of selling alot and making alot of money and I made one or two sales and that was it, so I sell the way that works for me and stick to it
