@@Lilghost1412 clear primal philosophy/mentality, but also full of wisdom, introspective, aware that he may never fully understand others while acknowledging that the way they think is valid, yet not hiding his own opinions at all, and even quite the philosopher. He may even be varying degrees of lonely, going from not at all to a bit to soul-crushingly. He is an amazing character, and I feel I would love to sit down and talk with him if he wouldn’t kill me.

Being honest quirrel was the character that made continue the game as I dropped it because I got very lost and didn’t know what came next and also my PC is absolute trash and the game was very laggy because of this, but then I saw a boss compilation of the game and said “wait he actually helps you fight a boss” and then came back to the game and realize how awesome of a game is hollow knight

Funny how Hornet and Quirrel go up against each other in the finals. It’s not very common knowledge, however, that the two have already fought each other for real, though Hornet let up when she saw Monomon’s mask on Quirrel’s head. Do with that info what you will.

Especially since Cloth also helps you fight a boss at one point of the game, if you save her from enemies in the Ancient Basin. And if you do…well, after the main battle she kills the Traitor Lord, but dies doing so. Now, I simply loved the character in my first run - and seeing her die in that same run was…well, it hurt DEEP. But…she went down like the fighter she really wanted to be, and I respect her for that.

Quirrel TOTALLY deserved the dub, he’s amazing, but I can’t believe they did Myla and Mato so poorly… They may not give you much but some lore, a broken heart and a charge attack you’re never going to use, but I love them both dearly and I’m sad they didn’t do better in popularity.

Quirrel, Myla, The Hunter, and Hornet all deserve spots that are pretty high up. Quirrel being my all-time favorite, I am very happy with his win. Hornet did perfectly as expected, I'm sad when it comes down to Myla though. Now The Hunter has a lot of personality and notes added to the journal which actually fleshes him out pretty well. I thought he'd get past the round for sure.

I have a confession: I...don't like Hornet that much. Like don't get me wrong, she's an amazing character but I think that my perception of her has been damaged by the fact that I did particularly bad in her boss fights, especially the second. When I see her all I can really think about is the frustration of dying for the 40th time and the pure feeling of rage that gets to me whenever she says "shaw!". Or anything really, the fact that she just won't shut up irritates me beyond words (this is also why I absolutely hate the Collector). I really Hope she doesn't make all that noise during gameplay. But apart from that, I'm sorry, because I recognize that she's a great character. I just prefer Willoh, who doesn't do anything but eating and quietly going "yakku-ya!" or Grimm, who at least has the decency to stay mostly silent (I don't think his throat is capable of screaming anyways) and blast some badass drums while kicking your ass, and he's the coolest guy in Hallownest.

I love The Last/Old Stag When he tells you not to use the tram or to leave the Hidden Station as he doesn't recognise it, makes him feel like a parent in a way. And seeing all of the other stags in the final station as well.

Not sure if it was intentional, but the winner in the first bracket was almost always the last one in the order displayed, if not the second to last. Maybe those positions could be more randomized in future community rankings for added suspense? I really like this video format overall, just a small thing I wanted to point out.

The order is based on the seeding, so people can see what seed each of the contestants is in. That's why the popularity generally increases from left to right (Seed 1 to Seed 4), so folks can get a good idea of where each NPC got placed/why they got matched up against the other NPCs that they did. Most of the results going left to right was due to my intuition for seeding on how the community would feel about certain characters being generally correct (with a few notable exceptions like Cloth/Elderbug and Mr.Mushroom/Snail Shaman). However, if knowing the seeding of each character ahead of time detracts from the suspense of the polls, I can look into randomizing them more in the future, at the cost of some clarity on who has been seeded where.

Cornifer and The Last Stag are the best in my opinion. Underrated NPCs I think are Tuk and Bardoon. Overall, Hollow Knight provides a super interesting cast of characters. Loved the designs
