Starkid's other shows are excellent, but Twisted (especially musically speaking) is the closest they've ever come to actually sounding like a Broadway show. That and the fact that all the singing is basically perfect since Dylan is in the lead makes it hard to find anything bad about it.

Twisted is in my top 2, but you have to remember that show had incredibly rich source material. It was parodying a Disney musical, and Disney musicals are BY FAR the most widely watched and beloved musicals in the world, and part of everyone’s childhood. With TGWDLM, Firebringer, and Black Friday Starkid has advanced beyond parodies to original works (or genre parodies) so of course they are not going to have as universal appeal

Yeah! Like people say Corey is underrated but he has become so popular recently. He’s also had way bigger roles in the last musicals. He isn’t underrated anymore. Joe walker is now kinda viewed like this really awesome weird former dude. I guess we have to accept that the OG’s who aren’t in the musicals anymore won’t be as popular as they once were or never really got enough credit for. We’ve got to accept that. Joe walker will always be a legend. But people like Brian r and AJ people like them are underrated. That’s I guess why my all time favorites will always be Lauren, Joey, Jaime, Dylan... because I’ve seen them grow so much. Because they are still very active within starkid they are still very popular. So now the main new people are Jon and Robert, Mariah and such, so what, they are awesome. And I just hope everyone gets to do what they want znd like, whether that’s within Starkid, or moving on to something better for them, they will always be in our hearts

I DEF agree with you that Firebringer had some of the best music! Like of course there were some no-hitters in the track IMO but there were also some really, really great ones too! Like "Jemilla's Lament," "Paint Me" (LOVED THIS), "Together," "Chorn" (vocals literally slayed us all), "Into The Night," and honestly much more- those were just some that come to mind.

I’d vote for Jaime just because she’s been in more shows and has been great in all of them, while we’ve only see Mariah in one show. Jaime’s played so many different characters in so many shows and made them each feel unique, while Mariah was only able to play a few minor ones in one show and they weren’t really differentiable (not her fault). It would’ve been great to see Mariah in black friday to show the talent she’s showing now in Mean Girls

I honestly didn't expect TTO to win best comedy tbh. It was overall a good, comedic show- with some really strong jokes (Cornwallis appearing, Craphole putting the gun in his mouth, the Dikrats in general) but sometimes the jokes fell a bit flat or it came off as too obvious or trying to hard to be funny IMO.

TC Fr! Like I would critique it as a good show with some very strong parts (such as showing the dynamic between mother and daughter for example) but then I feel like it’s too crackhead at *a lot* of parts. It’s like, watching the video of the whole musical, you can tell when a lot of jokes are intended to get laughs from the audience but sometimes no one laughs or if they do, it’s not really an uproar. I think they’re well aware people love Starkid for their own special crackhead energy, and tried to excessively capitalize on that for the show, but it came off as trying too hard to be that. Which is why other musicals like TGWDLM had much better comedy to me because the jokes sort of came naturally and weren’t too in your face with their obviousness.

Ok ok my opinions that no one asked for: Brolden is one of the best singers and I can't believe everyone's sleeping on him. Britney Coleman and Tyler Brunsman should have had better representation. Based on these rankings, I doubt everyone who took the survey has seen all the shows. I think this fandom has trouble ranking objectively. People seem to have a favourite and put them overly high in certain categories just because they like them (to each their own obviously but you get my point.)

I can totally see why he's 2nd tho, and I think it's deserved! Throughout all of his time in Starkid, he's played so, so many memorable and fan-favorite roles, even if they're not always the leads! The same could be said for Robert, but Joey is just such a representative icon for what Starkid is and I think comes to mind for a lot of fans more frequently than Robert would.

Considering the Starkid audience is about 90% females between 14-22 and not everyone is gay, for some people it was missing a factor that normally holds their interest in a musical, so they regarded it as "boring".

I thing it bears reminding that everyone in StarKid is great, all of the StarKid shows are a wonderful gift that they never had to give us, and that everyone is entitled to their own preferences. I’ve a lot of distaste for some of the newer shows and the people who came into this fandom because of it lately. I’ve seen “X is over/under rated” left and right. The last thing I wanna see is this relatively non toxic fandom become divided. So I remind you guys of B@tman’s “masks! Capes! Superheroes are cool!” speech, because you know what? StarKid is cool! Nick Lang, Joe Walker, Kim Whalen, Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter, they’re all amazing! We shouldn’t base whether we like someone or whether we like a show or not on what’s popular at the moment, all love for StarKid is good love for StarKid! Whether you like Black Friday, Me & My Dick, Ani, AVPS or Twisted the most, the important thing is we all love these amazing people who had the guts and good will to put ENTIRE shows they wrote online for us to enjoy!

Honestly, as much as I love all the Starkids (which is A LOT), Jim stole my heart since AVPM with “Maybe a single drop”. I love xir!! And I think xe deserves more recognition, xe’s comedic timing is fantastic. But, yeah, I love them all, just a little Jim biased lol

Firebringer is in my top 3. I think one reason for it’s unpopularity is it’s innovative story: It didn’t have a strong leading man/het ship. Considering 90% of the Starkid audience is females between 14-22 and we’re not all gay, a segment of the audience may have felt Firebringer lacked something they want in a musical. But that’s completely ok

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the video but as someone who does mics for the shows at my hs, I really hate how their mics are placed but I do like that they're at least moderately consistent and don't draw attention to themselves. Okay, about the video: I agree with most of the rankings and it wasn't surprising that Joey, Dylan and Lauren ranked so high in so many categories. I love the clips you used for all of the categories and how they were all kind of from different shows.
