Yep, 5 blinks it is for general system board failure. You may need a another motherboard. Or another laptop. Used motherboard will cost about $120, but I prefer used one in case, because the motherboard is in weird shape, can be damaged while shipping because of some bending etc.

This is very helpful, thanks for making and posting it.Though I'd be more than happy to see a re-assembly vid too, specially re-connecing the small keyboard cables, those gave me a hard time(there is that little black piece of plastic wich tightens the cable in place, how do you place it?)

Thank you, unfortunately there is no reassemble video for this laptop. I am away from my desk, so, can't really look at exactly whats happening there, I have a video where I am reconnecting all cables, no all types of them, but pretty much most popular. Hi, I would just simply go to eBay.com and search there. Ask seller a question and verify they ship to India. Otherwise, I don't know other places to buy parts, maybe AliExpress, but eBay is the best for used and new laptop parts.

Hey, yes you are right. Keyboard should come out and I am not sure if you will be able to remove fan without removing palmrest.

whats the lockA and lock1 MEAN ? MY COMPUTER HAVE THOSE KEYS BLINKING 3 TIME ? and all the led ligh are on but it wont turn on ? can u help me pls?

lock A is caps lock, lock 1 is numlock, and if all the led lights are on you might have the same problem as me which mine seems to not power on sometimes, I solved mine by just reseating the hard drive, memory, and wifi chips as well as taking the battery out and putting it back in, press and hold the power button for one second and try again. My laptop's making a weird noise (as I posted on my page)

Reading farther down this post, if caps and numlock are blinking 3 times it means there's a serious problem with the motherboard, so if the fix I posted doesn't work then you might need a new motherboard, which you should be able to buy one used on ebay for $30 if that.

I have this laptop and access to change the CPU paste periodically is pretty good. But the 4530s is a nightmare as you have to take it completely apart to get to the fan and lift the CPU cooler off the replace the paste. not the best design!

I have an HP 6535b that has been great for the last 4 years. Today I turned it on and it wouldn't boot up. I got the 5 blinks from the caps/number lock LED's which tells me it's something serious. I tried the pull out the memory stick and start it up without it, but that gave the same result. A local computer guy said it's a done deal. Any suggestions ?? Thanks for the video......I'm sure I'll be getting into this one!
