Thanks, i finally understand it fully!

Oh also that comparators are also used to carry signal strength information across long distances. Useful for scoring system on shooting range's target blocks.

Using a comparator to increment the power level of the block to show that a fully powered block overrides the "read" block's output is genius. Fantastically done!!

I JUST saw this use (the powering to override) in one of Tango’s old HC videos like yesterday! So cool!

On bedrock edition they can even read though some wired blocks like chains and some others. This is actually often useful as chains are transparent

I focused on the info and missed the loop

If you want to detect a full container, just place a redstone block or other full power source to the left or right of a comparator instead of using circuit at the end of the video.

The one at the end of the video is the 1 wide tile able version of that circuit..

@@NicoisLOST Oh my bad, saw the dust at the end of the comparator and thought it wasn't tileable

In bedrock edition, the comparator will prioritize the reading of a container behind an opaque block. So powering the block between the container and comparator changes nothing, even if the container is empty. Makes for more consistent item spitters/elevators in some cases with less room as you can power the opaque block to activate the dropper without interrupting the clock

Comparator can also be use to break minecraft, if the comparator try to get the power from a shulker that belive its a lectern it will become a supressor

When I first ran into this I was so confused. Why is a comparator reading something from a whole block away??

Please explain what is a comparator

Why doesn't this work with target blocks tho
