I'm new into building my own gaming PC and am currently in the stage of finding out all I can about the various ways to further customize my build, so naturally I'm in the market for sleeved cables. As someone with next to no knowledge on the subject I really appreciate your video and all the information you provide in it. Thank you very much!

Awesome video man. Really appreciate you doing this. Love to see similar content on other small aesthetic things you can do. Fans, sata cables, USB extensions, etc. I love what cable extensions can do for a build even as low as $500 for such a small buy in.

I've had the uphere kit for a year now, they're pretty great. I like how when I have all LED's off they match my glossy white fans, and with LED's on they reflect the colors beautifully. Over time they stiffen up, so using the cable combs to get the right curves until then is essential. Overall I highly recommend for a cheap way to make your build shine.

I've used Ensourced cables from Joey ever since you recommended them and him to me a couple of years ago. There's a premium cost, but oh so nice! I also use the modular PSU cables, not just extensions. I guess it's a vanity thing. I even have a set sitting here to go in my TT Level 20 HT build that I've been procrastinating about putting in. After seeing the LinkUp cables I might be making a modification to them before doing so.

Nice video. Now if you could measure voltage drop with each one, that would be perfect. Using extension cables sometimes results in unacceptable voltage drops at the motherboard or GPU end which leads to instability and crashes while e.g. gaming. The culprit is usually high resistance at the connectors due to insufficient conductor contact. No good having a nice looking PC if you can't use it.

Does Aisahorse work properly with my PSU "Corsair AX860i" as some are saying it's differ from power to others & I have to check if compatible or nor
@scarkillerful
@scarkillerful 2 жыл бұрын
Well your PSUs capacity doesn't matter, it's what power you're actually pulling. If, however, you are pulling all 860 watts, then it's probably better to go with a 16 AWG cable (slightly thicker) compared to 18 AWG. But even then, it's unlikely to cause problems, it'll only introduce a bit more resistance and heat loss as a result. However, this is only at max load, and it's unlikely that you are pulling max load 24/7 (crypto miners, looking at you), so again likely not a problem.

The stiffer cables from upHere are really stiff because their material is PET plastic "fabric". At least according to Bitwit (youtuber). Good for shaping though? ;). Cablemod has different kits based on the PSU you're using. Is that an issue with these more generic kits? I'm not sure why Cablemod would have a "compatibiliy" list for PSUs if they are pretty generic.
@scarkillerful
@scarkillerful 2 жыл бұрын
If you're buying an extension kit (like these cables), then your PSU doesn't matter. If you are buying a full set (which these aren't), then compatibility matters, due to the ports on each different PSU being slightly different. So it's not about them being "generic", it's because they aren't replacing your PSU cables, they're only extending them. So pay close attention to what exactly you are ordering on CableMod. To try and explain it in another way: Think about it as if they are extending the ports on your components, not as if they are extending your PSU cables. It's a weird analogy, but it makes it obvious that if you have a certain port on your component, then your current PSU cables will always fit the cable extensions (provided they had fit the components directly beforehand).
