I can explain the Grimms Fairy Tale Classics version. It's technically based on the Grimm Brothers' "The Summer and Winter Garden," which is where the idea of the father dying comes from. It just became "Beauty and the Beast" in foreign dubs.

There is also a Russian animated movie (or long episode) of Beauty and the beast made by the Russian studio Soiouzmoultfilm in 1952.

When I read the original story as a child I thought that since the Beast has a magic mirror and also knew Beauty's name, there was a chance he purposely did that to her father because he wanted to test him and also to take Beauty out of her difficult life(her sisters are very rude and Beauty has to do everything because they are spoiled and don't want to).

Or also comparing different versions of Swan Lake... there is Duchess swan in ever after high which the daughter of the Swan queen, which i don t know if is odile or odette because she pretends to steal other happily ever afters to other people because her story ends tragically

I am disappointed we don’t see much footage of Travis, Coach Beast and even Shawn from Regal Academy. Travis didn’t even appear on the video thumbnail like Hawk for the Snow White video. 😔

😢Awww you forgot add Studio Chizu's Belle. That's a shame. I highly recommend it, it has elements of Disney Beauty and the Beast but futuristic high tech VR take on. Trust me it's amazing.
