cant find VS specs on babolat but the specs listed on TW and other sources make it fairly clear that the new 98 is less stiff and has higher swing weight compared to the VS. Not sure why you think they are identical Harry
@icemandl6 Жыл бұрын
Been hitting with both for 3 months: The differences: New one : Softer and more muted feel (lower RA and addition of flax in the layup), more polarized weight distribution with higher swingweight. Honestly, for just hitting for fun, the new one feels great (plusher feel) and satisfying. (easier power). However, for competitive play, when there is something on the line and you need a stick you can trust, the old PAVS takes the cake, for sure! I feel the ball way better and I can go for more precise targets with it. So I definitely get what Harry’s guest is saying by “the old one is more surgical”

What muscle mass is the correct one to use the aero 98? I weigh 52 kilos and they told me that this racket could hurt my shoulder. Is that true or do I just have to have good technique? I currently use 300g rackets

There difference between the two is the flex fibres at 3&9. A bit like Wilson PWS system, but not visually obvious. That machine that measures stiffness is interesting and literally backs up the verbiage from Babolat Marketing Director and his interview with TW back when they launched it. I've had many of both of these sticks and moved to the 98 purely because it was more stable to handle heavy balls, particularly on returns and volleys. They are the same racquet outside of those fibres and the spin grommets. The feel is more muted and stiffer/more stable (twistweight) and it was a welcome change when you're handling pacy balls. I found I didnt like RPM Blast until the 98 then I felt like it was the perfect string for the racquet (1.30/16).

Why wouldn’t you take the placard out for swing weight. Surely placards cause resistance thru the air and would affect swing weight?
@SaberShirou Жыл бұрын
Yes but the comparison is between rackets that both have placards, so it is in other words controlled.

Is the VS or new 98 the same weight as the original PA? Or is the original PA heavier. My 2019 PA weighs 324 grams with Solinco 16L Hyper G and 4 3/8" grip with dampener and overgrip. Sometimes, I think it may be too heavy for me now? BTW the PA Plus, weighs approx. 10 grams more than the original PA I own one. Would like to take out the plus device to make it lighter.

From Tennis-warehouse twistweight are different : VS 14.6. 98. 15.4
@onitrix1669 Жыл бұрын
What is twist weight?
@enematwatson1357 Жыл бұрын
@@onitrix1669Essentially the same as swingweight except that you rotate the racquet along a lengthwise axis. Wilson's famous PWS intends to increase twistweight by adding mass at 6 and 9 in order to increase stability on off centre shots.

lower the swing-weight by adding weight to handle? Is it true?
@viktorbenedek868 Жыл бұрын
No :D
@JoJo-nm1dh Жыл бұрын
Can’t lower swingweight by adding weight no matter where, that’s physics. Making it more headlight would only make you FEEL it’s easier to swing
@viktorbenedek868 Жыл бұрын
These guys are talking shit very confidently.
@perfect-tennis Жыл бұрын
Nope, it's impossible to lower the swingweight by adding weight. Simple physics. But you won't increase it by much, either.

In the 'olden days' VS natural gut was top of the line string. Watch old vids from the wooden racket era, you see the top players use VS strings (VS on the strings). VS was the brand name of the string, acronym for "Victory Sport". Thus the Babolat VS would assumably indicate "top of the line" for Babolat, a company that came to the scene first as a string manufacturer.

@enematwatson1357 Жыл бұрын
According to Babolat themselves, VS stands for "V Supérieur" with V being the version id for the elaboration method of their natural gut and superior because it was their highest quality grade.

All numbers are false :( You measure the rackets weight and swing weight WITHOUT REMOVING THE PLASTIC advertising paper in the head !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you should repeat that test because we are really interested on that comparison. Of course it would be really great if you include at least 4 rackets for VS and Pure Aero cause there is no consistency, think the +/- 7 grams rule.

@XxverhAUTxX Жыл бұрын
@@prophetmargin7497 most pros arent using the brand new top of the line racket they are endorsing. Switching rackets is a major disruption in consistency, especially for a pro who has all timings and movements dialed in perfectly with a specific racket. So mostly the actual rackets pros use are just painted over several years older generation rackets. Or even entirely different molds and customized to a point, where its impossible to get hands on a similar racket through regular racket retailers. (racket manufacturers keep tabs on these via pro stock codes or something like that if im not mistaken)
