Wayne Bennett also toured with the Kangaroos, but didn't quite make Test selection.

The greatest coaches (in any sport) were never truly great players. Being a great former player is a handicap as a coach. Great former players were natural winners at their sport, therefore they don't fully understand what it is like to struggle when the chips are down. The great coach Jack Gibson was a good example. "The greatest teachers are those that struggled learning their profession" - Aristotle 316 BC

You have to be kidding. Gibson had a fine career. 160 odd game across 15 years and captained Easts in a Grand final, and played in another Grand final for wests

Is an age old saying... "thats that cant, teach" but i think its half true. Way i see it... if you are a winner on the field.. you know what it takes to be a winner. But..... Its mindset... Its football knowledge... Its ppl managing...

@@archipiratta well soccer coaches got diplomas from acting school didnt they? The memes dont lie.. someone treads on a toe.. players act like they got hit by a train... in one pic.. The other is a car a crumpled mess n driver walkin away, dudes with fingers broken outta skin, playing on as if nothing happened, broken jaws etc.. Cant knock soccer though... highly paid actors, who cant play a real sport cos they scared of actual contact.

Sad that such great archival footage and information is wasted with boofheaded in-jokes and stupidity. Sad that Matty Johns is slowly becoming Footy Show 2.0
