When I was a child I had a neighbor from Sicily that made a biscuit type pastry filled with fig from his tree. Yum! Can you and Debbie share the Fig Bread recipe? Thank you.

Hey Lou! I love and learned so much about gardening and overall life from your videos. I have two questions to ask: 1. Which nets do you use to keep the birds out? 2. When it rains, what causes the figs to split? Is it water getting into the eye of the fig or is it an overall abundance of water that is being absorbed throughout the tree or a combinations of both? Lou, do you have any problem with SWD (spotted wing drosophila)? They've been a problem for me here in Maryland for the last couple of years, especially after the recent rains. If so, what do you do about them?

@steveboyer2976 Hi Steve! No, I can honestly say that I have not ever had a difficult time with SWD. There have been a few rare occasions over the years when I did experience some, but it's hardly ever been a negative experience of any significance to me. I have friends who have had tremendous problems with Hornets, Bees, SWD, and other insects, too, but fortunately. none of them have had an impact on my harvest to date. Thanks for watching! Hi, my figs are almost ripe but I took one and it’s very dry inside . No juice. What did I do wrong? It’s Italian brown . Does it need more time to get soft and juicy? Help me please.
