@nomoretwitterhandles 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I still really love insanity, because the flow of the lyrics are really smooth. I could do without the "edgy emo kid" vibe of the lyrics themselves, but overall, it's a really nice song. I wish the instrumentals were better too. I recently found a cover of that particular song with 2 different vocaloids, and the cover artist also redid the instrumentals. While the instrumentals were modernized to sound better, I think they tried really hard to keep the music sounding as close to the original as possible. I can't remember who made the cover, but it was incredible to hear one of my childhood favorites as an actual nice-sounding song lol. Like, I don't mean to sound snobbish, but a lot of Vocaloid music is... VERY Vocaloid. Idk how else to describe it. Just look at classics like Romeo + Cinderella, or World Is Mine. Those songs don't have a lot of sound depth; and musically, they kinda hurt the ears. I love Romeo + Cinderella for the chord progressions and for the lyric flow, but overall, the music is so empty. It would be so cool for those classics to get redone, almost like how Yuyoyuppe redid Leia (granted, I still love the original bc the depth was fine to me, but the remake is even better). Anyways, pardon my rant. I am just very passionate about Vocaloids and synthetic singing. I've always been a bit of a tech geek, and I love watching the Vocaloid community change and become even more serious about the music. The old music was fun though!

As stated, KIRA started with UTAU Covers. But he's also UST-ing songs. This help him gain some of his followers. People will try to find USTs for the song they want to cover and they'll find him. I'd say he's always been at pro level even when being UTAU User. So, he started getting some of his "basic followers" . It isn't only because he USTs, but he also befriend with some UTAU users too, as example Ekkoberry (who's now usually work as artist for most of his works). With that, he got his first songs at least known among his "basic followers". As time goes, he made more songs, his friends and "basic followers" try to spread his songs. KZbin algorythm might also help new people to find his songs. That's at least what I thought.
@KyouBeanie
@KyouBeanie 2 жыл бұрын
UTAU covers also just used to be incredibly popular, sometimes they would even pop up in the recommended after listening to the original song provided you were already consuming a fair amount of Vocaloid content. Another point is that Kira was one of the first Vocaloid producers making English songs to become popular in the community to the point where if someone searched for English Vocaloid songs Kira would be the top result.

When I first found out about Maretu, he was NOT known (I found about him around 2016 Summer, end of July) and I was overwhelmed because the way he produces the songs hit different from the ones I've always listened to and you could say I fell in love? After a year I somehow forgot about vocaloids but the main reason why I even started watching anime was the vocaloids. All hail running Sakuya and Po Pi Po!

I'm impressed by now much work went into this video. Finding erased videos, providing interesting bonus information... I'm not even much of a Vocaloid fan anymore, I used to be a big one in 4th - 6th grade(Just few days ago, I was thinking about how back then, going to a Vocaloid concert was one of my biggest dreams. Not anymore, but maybe...), but Vocaloid content still makes it's way to my recommended, and I don't mind, I like to watch it once in a while. I'm glad that I recognize some of the producers' names, since back then, I didn't pay much attention to who made the music. I'm happy to see some of the names burned themselves into my memory enough to remember.

I feel bad because I only knew a few of the producer's on the list just because of a few songs (mostly popular songs). Like I recently discovered Kira because Kira's songs have been showing up frequently on my pandora playlist (Digital Girl, Master Piece, Monster, Circles; just to name a few). I don't know why, but I was expecting Crusher-P to be on the list for some reason. Crusher has some bangers.

I want to focus on producers who are still active in vocaloid. When you say they made so many popular songs, the truth is not really. They both made about 20 songs which is extremely low when you compare to producers like DECO*27 or PinocchioP who made well over 100. Wowaka's last song was Unknown Mother Goose made in 2017. It was requested by Crypton for Miku's 10th anniversary. The song before that was in 2011. Wowaka left the vocaloid scene and I'm sure he wouldn't have come back if Crypton didn't request Unknown Mother Goose.
