I actually find the menu diving on the TR-8/TR-8S harder than on the Digitakts since you have that tiny screen and have to scroll through the menu vs simply pressing a button a few times (and the Elektron screen shows you so much more and you have 8 knobs to tweak parameters vs 1).

Outstanding video. Love the timestamps. TY I subbed because of this. I have have the DII and the TR8S.🎶🎶 Keep up the good work.

Awesome. I want the pulsar-23 and Nord drum 3p. I just got the perkons hd-1, so I’ll need to wait a few more months…

The 8s FM drum engines are really deep. It's a really powerful machine with way to much menu diving. I have a DRM1 which has the most options out of all analog drum machines for sound design. It unfortunately had no sequencer or automation.
@LiamKillenСағат бұрын
My next experiment will be involving the 8S’s FM drums for sure 😏
@NicholasSeamansСағат бұрын
@@LiamKillen If you use the software with the Tr-8s the sequencer is really deep. The problem is that it is only usable with the app (if on window s you have to end task on the desktop web app viewer or it does not sync btw). The FM kick has 13 parameters for example. Check out all the FM models. You can do parameter locks, ratchets, and more. Maybe roland should have charged 25 dollars more and added a great screen instead of the ones that they bought in 1985.

I feel like machines sometimes kneecap themselves with too many features. I have some of the bigger elektron boxes but always come back to the cycles because of how little fuss it is to use , also the os doesn’t have near the amount of bugs their younger products have.
@the_glove2 сағат бұрын
Also I kind of feel like overbridge is overrated. Using the instrument as a vst is like reaching around your elbow to get to your asshole , much faster just to get going on any other vst if that’s how you mainly want to use it. It hasn’t made a huge difference since the internal mixing of the elektron boxes is already not bad.

For me the AR mk2 just sits in there perfectly

@@LiamKillenI’ll have to give that one a shot, the Nord drum also looks really interesting , to get me back into the player mindset . Plus it has a kraftwerk chic design that is undeniably fab
@jonirischx89256 сағат бұрын
Can I trigger the output signal of the nord drum with the retro encabulator of the rytm's analog unilateral phase detractors, modulating the frequency response at the intersection of the ramistan, or can this not be done? I am tired of companies not listening to their users needs.
@LiamKillen6 сағат бұрын
Not sure if you can do that lol
@uberd0gAlpha4 сағат бұрын
It would be interesting to see where the Syntakt would sit on this list. Everyone raves about Analog Rytm, but I just don't see how it could offer more than my Digitakt/Syntakt combo.
@LiamKillen3 сағат бұрын
It’s not a unit I’ve dug into enough to know! I have a feeling the AR mkii is kind though in the Elektron realm…for now 😏
@leftmono10163 сағат бұрын
The RYTM has more performance control. Not something I use a lot personally so not an expert by any means. But things like assigning pad pressure to various parameters.

Excuse my lack of drum machine knowledge but why was PO-12 rhythm highlighted instead of PO-32 tonic? And you highlight the Roland TR-8 as a better bang for your buck in this category. So that would be a better option than PO-12 but wasn’t covered because you already covered the TR-8S?
@LiamKillen5 сағат бұрын
Yeah I guess they’re drum machines! You’re right! The PO-12 just stood out to me more
