I was asked about the noise levels of the Panasonic GX0 motor. I think the best way to answer that is to compare it against others motors. So I put it up against motors from Specialized, Shimano, Bosch and Giant.

Very good test. Borse is a really good engine for me and main reason I've got spec turbo levo. Recently I rode my daughters yamaha motor and I couldn't stand the noise! For me.its a killer feature. Looking forward to new videos!

Probably the most accurate and comprehensive test on this subject ..... but thats just my opinion😁. More and more im liking the rocky motor and the bosch cx. I want a cx but really curious to see how that rocky mktor developes. Lots of power as is. Will they be able to lighten it?

Overall RELIABILITY would be different for every rider. I've used Bosch, Brose(not all cracked-up it's advertised to be), and Shimano E-8000(abundance of mechanical issues). The motor I am most confident with: The Yamaha PW-X2. Not excessive on torque. No need for mega-wattage batteries. And despite biased reviews, I have had this motor completely submerged crossing creeks, and it still powers me uphill. A heavy brutal rider, I don't need excessive torque to do all the pedaling for me. Just enough to help me climb so I need not walk. Hate walking.

When testing for torque and noise do your test on smooth road and hill with 0 pedal assist . Yes it’s a mountain bike but the suspension , chain & sprocket drive along with a bumpy surface skews the test with both the ability of the motor and noise it makes .

Excellent . . . all reviews are subjective, your's no more than any other. I found this video to be very informative. Now for a request: Have you reviewed either of the Bafang motors (BBS02 or BBSHD)? My readings/viewings so far suggest the Bafang is more powerful than any of the builtin motors. That and it comes with a throttle mode in addition to pedal assist. You would need to convert a non-ebike to do a review.
@rogeredrinn45924 жыл бұрын
@@EMTBVideos Thanks for that detailed reply. I Googled Bronson to better understand your explanation. Seems it has a long flat section in front of the BB, preventing the Bafang from rotating up and out of the way, hence your comment on it being too low. I'm planning on putting a BBSHD on a Mtb with a Sram 1x12 so that should help the motor spin faster at lower power, also will get the smallest front sprocket. Also read that the motor/controller is programmable to adjust max current, likely other settings. I will only ride trails and/or 4WD roads, never pavement or even gravel. As to pedaling vs throttle, to early to say. I watched a number of throttle only videos, amazing how fast and long it would go on steep terrain, quiet too.
@rogeredrinn45924 жыл бұрын
@@EMTBVideos Rewatched your video twice, trying to compared to a Bafand BBSHD ridden below freezing with ice and snow (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqepZqWYfNeoncU). Some observations: .. The rider was NOT pedaling, no visible knee action .. Motor noise was almost inaudible, mostly ice and snow under the tires .. Your seven test motors are clearly louder and more objectionable, but rough terrain makes you and the motor work harder .. Bike was moving fast on low to moderate grade, easy terrain .. Rich W has many videos, don't remember any on rough terrain as you show Any thoughts?

I have a 2000watt DD rear hub motor with a 48v 45amp Sinewave motor controller. It is silent, it really is.

@@lazurm no it's absolutely silent, it's apparently because it's a Sine wave controller. I have one mid drive Yamaha PWX, And 4 rear hub motors, the Sine wave is the only one that is silent
