I have had my Stamina in motion, since they 1st came out. I broke my leg in 2010 that is when I really started using it, (used it for rehab). Have rode it 1000's and 1000's of miles (15-50 MILES A DAY 5 DAYS A WEEK, FOR 11 years), with little to no maintenance. We oiled some moving parts. It was sold as a standing machine at first, with no mention of sitting whatsoever. I figured out you could spin it around and use it for sitting, hence perfect for my rehab. I even showed my PT how this would work, and how he could stick one in a corner for clients to sit and warm up. He was impressed with the e1000. Over the course of the next couple of years we started seeing ads for it being used as a rider. PERFECT! Love love love it. I went back to work 5.5 weeks before they said I would be able to go back. Hard work and determination and the correct machine pays off.

The fact that the Cubii did not require exaggerated knee movements was the most important function for me since there is not a lot of space under my desk; 6 inches from knee to underside of desktop, to be precise.

If I had to be honest based on experience…it can feel a little bit unnatural overtime with to much ankle movement. There are cases where I even place my feet so far forward on the pedals just to mimic the more familiar bike pedaling movement which feels less weird.

Only desk cycle allows more stationery ankle and better thigh work. Those other ones are constantly flexing your foot which is unnatural for peddeling and going to give you tendonitis in a hurry.

Some people do use the display screens, like in our family, we each try to get 10,000 revolutions a day. It's a competition between the kids in online school and parents working from home. I'm getting ready to buy another one, because I have begun to hate sharing, and I want to put in more hours with it under my desk.

Based on your video -- which I think is very nicely done -- I chose the Cubii Jr. The price was $179 with free shipping from Costco, and that seemed like too good a deal to pass up. Setup wasn't difficult. I've been using it for an hour on each of the last four days, and I already know that I'm going to return it. Even at maximum (level 8) resistance, I don't feel any sort of burn, and I certainly don't break a sweat. The really annoying thing is that it keeps sliding gradually forward, meaning I have to stop and re-position the unit every 3-4 minutes. This happens whether I use the rubber mat or just place it on my living room carpet. I suspect the only way to prevent that is to anchor the unit against a wall or very heavy stationary object. Since I raised the issue, can you (or any of your viewers) comment on whether the other two ellipticals have the same problem with sliding forward?

@@YellowPineappleHoyas I decided to keep mine after figuring out how to take care of the "sliding" problem. I wouldn't call it a serious workout, since I know I can burn a lot more calories on a treadmill or my good old Nintendo Wii Fit. Just the same, it's perfect for when I've blocked out time to watch a movie or sports event on TV. By now, you have probably seen Cubii's claim that you can burn 150 calories in an hour. I think that's questionable. Based on the unit's own digital readings, I would say 80 to 85 calories per hour would be more accurate, even with the resistance turned up to the maximum setting. If someone else is getting significantly higher calorie burn rates, I hope they'll reply.

I'm wondering what ergonomic difference there is for your back and long term health between the bike pedals vs the paddle type exerciser. Also is there any concern or issue with having to push down vs pushing forward? Was that what was meant by using a 2x4? to raise the front so you could pedal at more of a foward angle?

Looking for one of these for the office so I can keep active while seating. I like the desk cycle for how it appears to exercise more muscles and closer to actual cycling but I'm concerned about my knees hitting my desk top. There's some cheapo and basic ones on Amazon around $40-$50 that I was curious about trying out before committing $200 for one of the higher end models. Those cheap ones any good?

The cycles with limited range of motion will aggravate the calf’s if you have calf’s prone to cramping. The one the young lady has involves more muscle groups and there is a smaller amount of pull on the calf’s, better for a workout AND less likely to cause calf cramps.

Improved cardio vascular training, strengthening your heart & lungs. Range of motion and getting blood circulation to your legs. Once it becomes easy turn up the resistance knob or go for a longer duration. If you stop moving or walking things will progressive get worse and then transfers may become hard for you. So stay active as long as you can so you have a better quality of life for a longer period of time. 😊

Please note: If you do not have a very stable chair, with no swivel and no rollers, you will be hard pressed to use these devices. I bought one for under desk and quickly discovered that without locking down my office chair, this would not work. You can get replacement rollers that either lock under load or lock when not under load. About 55 bucks for the former. However, I had not way of locking out the swivel at work or in my home office chair. I rarely sit in any other type of chair and I need to be able to "slide" to multiple work stations in the office. Great concept and some very nice machines. Just beware, you must have a very sturdy chair to use them.

Not the most comfortable seat, but way better than my attempts in the past to use the tether that came with the DeskCycle and hold myself in place by gripping my desk. I got a Cubii in addressing the under desk space problem, but I’ve found that I won’t be using an exercise bike under a desk so it wouldn’t matter if it’s elliptical or stationary for me apparently. At the same time though the Cubii and likely other elliptical bikes does feel a little unnatural due to smaller pedaling and constant movements concentrated on the ankles.

Deskcycle elliptical was NOT used in the above video. User lady on the left, is using Deskcycle but again you shouldn't compare it to Cubii elliptical because it is a different type model.

Looks like the ellipticals afford more movement in the ankles which has to be good for strength, endurance, and circulation. The stamina covers this and you can stand on it so it would be similar to what you would get with a stair stepper maybe? I have a desk cycle and use it for legs and arms, I think I want more so I want a stair stepper or elliptical!

If you want to increase the challenge all you need is adjustable ankle weights you tie them a little higher than your knee and reduce tempo to a steady, smooth speed. This works really good for quads

I ordered the exercise bike on January 7th and it arrived on February 12th. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The box must have been tossed around quite a bit because one whole side of the styrofoam was destroyed, and the other side foam was cracked. The Two zip ties holding the handlebars had broken loose and handlebars were loose in the box. There are two small holes in the foam on the right side of the handlebars, I guess from rolling around inside the box. Assembly was straight forward and easy. I am 6 ft 5 in 220 lb and the handlebars and seating positions fully adjustable and work great, I'm getting full leg extension. The noise level is very, very low and acceptable. The adjustment knob for the pressure on the flywheel works well also. The exercise bike is very well made, sturdy and easy move around. This is my first exercise bike and will keep me in shape over the winter. Update 3/19/21: when removing the sticker from the wheel, make sure you remove any sticker glue also. I thought mine was clean but I was getting a slight noise from the glue. Once cleaned off, its super quite. Also the monitor didn't work, tracked it down to the pickup device wasn't in the hole. Once I moved in the hole, it works fine. Do NOT put it in until it touches or it will damage the pickup.

I have the first one and I add ankle weights. I have not been active since pre covid but I can tell the difference in my legs and my stamina. It's made it easier to ride my Peleton. I use it sitting or standing. When I'm sitting I forget that I am using it. When standing I get a better workout.

I got a Cubii used like new. I’ve been finding the elliptical movement feeling a little weird in result of mostly ankle movement which I find unnatural compared to pedaling on a bike that I feel like I should’ve went for a stationary one like the Desk Cycle. Personal opinion though.

I have the Stamina e3000, as well as the Cubii Jr. I bought the Cubii specifically due to the hgt of my knees on the Stamina. Cubii is the way to go for lowest knee hgt under desk, but Stamina gives a great workout, and you can easily stand on it (w/ added resistance bands to attach to base). Both have great qualities, and are VERY sturdy!

@@andrewcrandall2419 Hi Andrew, I am so sorry I didnt see this sooner. I hope you've made a good choice in the interim. If not, I can tell you that the cubii is super quiet (whisper quiet) and doesn't make any noise to speak of. The other option is the InMotion ellipticals. The InMotion is a little higher profile (and your knees come up a little higher) but it is also very very quiet. Between the 2, either is a good option, but there are some differences. I can use the cubii seated only. The InMotion allows for seated or standing (providing you work up to it, or use a chairback next to it to balance yourself), and also some have resistance bands if you want to add to it. Another option is the way you 'pedal' it. You can do the flat-foot seated, and your knees do raise up higher, or you can turn the unit around (backwards, if you will) and put your feet on the ends of the pedal and 'push' with your foot. This keeps the knees lower and also changes the muscles/movement. I really like both units, the cubii and the InMotion, and would recommend either without any reservations. Also, I've had 2 InMotion units (only because I bought one for home and one for work) and the 2nd unit came with the bumpers on the end of the pedals to allow for foot placement on the 2nd option I mentioned above. That being said, I could still do the SAME foot placement & push movement w/o the added bumpers on the earlier model. Best! Cynthia
