Out of your entire collection, which ocarina do you love the most?

oh gosh. I don't know. I probably use my purple clay ones the most. :-)

I think I'm ordering the first ever purple clay ocarina South Africa had in its borders.. closer to the end of this year. I couldn't find a single proper ocarina for sale in the entire country. I have to save up somewhat, as our currency is almost 20× weaker than the US Dollar, but I can't wait!😃

Oh my gosh!! I hadn't thought about ocarinas being difficult to find in South Africa. Well, I do love the purple clay ones and hope that you enjoy them as well. Once you have a little bit of money saved, you can always use my offer code "Ashley" for 10% off of the STL ocarinas...even if they are already listed on sale. 😉👍

@@AshleyJarmack thanks so much!😀 Yep, since the new 1994 government started with their corrupt schemes, all the cool stuff started dissappearing and everything got 4× more expensive.. so people only focus on importing essential products, no interesting stuff.😔

@@ErlankBru oh my gosh! I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know that this specifically has been happening in your country. Thank you for sharing but I am very sorry to hear. 😔

@@AshleyJarmack no don't stress, the world is big, there are many countries I don't know what's happening in.😅 I recently heard that a friend of one of my teachers from school days ordered an ocarina... I still have to ask from where. The purple tenor ocarina is my fav, but the bass ones also sound dreamingly beautiful.

I didn't mention that I have the Phoenix version (similar to that silver dragon one you play second). I received it as a gift and enjoy playing it, but the texturing could certainly make things more difficult. I have large hands and sausage fingers so no worries for me. It definitely hits the low A and B easier than my Dragontooth from Songbird, so I use it when I need to hit those for a song. I wouldn't want a higher note range in a porcelain instrument though. It would get a little shrill as bright as the tone is.

Lovely video! I am considering buying ceramic ocarinas soon but also feel like clay will be better.. I've never had ocarinas before so what do you think I should start with?
@AshleyJarmack2 жыл бұрын
I would say that so start, it doesn't matter if it's clay or ceramic, as long as it plays ok and is one that you enjoy. You can head over to STL's site and see if any there appeal to you. You can use the offer code "Ashley" for 10% off as well. ;-)

If this doesn't convince people to go for something better than a plastic ocarina, nothing will. Porcelain is great but so expensive.

Thanks so much! There is definitely a place for plastic ocarinas, but it's nice to have a few options. :-)
