I started watching BareRose, I'll have to finish later. Great subject and content here for sure. I watched Andy's video and it was great. Have a great day. I'll be back later.👍

No problem at all Ed and thanks a mill for stopping in man! You'll see a fluttered a bit on it, but I tried to jam it all in there for the average guy.

Awesome video! I didn't know Edelbrock made a double pumper style carburetor! It will be great to see how they perform! The only thing I see I don't like is their deviation from the standard 3.25 inch height, that sure will cause alot of folks hood clearance grief like you were saying!👍

I went into that a lot also on my install video. The performance is amazing though!

Great overview brotha ... I was not aware of this Edelbrock VRS ! Interesting to see them "copy" the 4150 and the changes made.

I have a premiere tonight of installation and first start. The only possibly negative thing about it is size. It's an inch taller and a bit longer than a Holley.

Well... You can probably guess what I'm gonna say...😆 Just like Chevrolet and it's LS here's Edelbrock and their Holley rip-off. If you can't beat them copy them, right? LOL You should probably know I've daily drove Holleys for years and thrown them on just about everything. You'll also find I do have some use for Carter AFBs as well. But once Edelbrock slapped their nameplate on them, forget it. I don't know what Edelbrock did to the AFB design but i have nothing but issues with them and getting them to perform right. Maybe a change in calibration? I have no idea. But back to the subject at hand, I'd have to get my mitts on once of these porky VRS's and see what's to be seen. The fact the base plate cannot be changed out is already a looser to me. A great pound for pound comparison would be a Holley 4777S as its almost identical to the VRS with glass sights and polished finish, assuming both are 650 cfm carbs. Funny thing is you can still pickup, in stock from summit, this Holley 4777S for $652. Or step up to the 4779S (750 cfm unit) for $693. Still FAR cheaper than the VRS and you get a mechanical choke included with your Holley! So unless this VRS has adjustable air bleeds, there's no need to even bother comparing it with a Holley Street HP 82751 that is currently $715 and probably a better and closer chokeless comparison to the VRS, minus the adjustable air bleeds. Not trying to pick on ya or the VRS per-se but offering a diffferent viewpoint from my experiences!

I'm sure that VRS is a beautiful well built performance carburetor that Edelbrock finally built, and it's light years better than the AFB. I'm probably just prejudiced and annoyed. When I think of AFBs, (Almost Four Barrels) my blood pressure rises and I have to remember Carter built Quadrajets for Rochester.
@jdvintageauto29586 ай бұрын
I like that Holley, and I would rebuild that one or the box of Quadrajets I have before I would buy an Edelbrock. Does that seem harsh, maybe. Nothing more annoying than a customer bringing in a classic GM with the complaint that it doesn't run the way it should, just to find out they replaced the Quadrajet with an AFB. Regardless, I watched the video waiting to pounce on you for your incorrect assumptions. Other than the vacuum advance is ported for part throttle emissions and not used at all for performance. I usually leave it disconnected. I was thoroughly dismayed for a lack of needing to pounce.

I’d like to try one of those out but I haven’t wanted to spend the money
@BareRoseGarage6 ай бұрын
You and me both on that. It is a lot cheaper than the new Holley, but cheaper doesn't mean it still matches the numbers in my wallet... lololol. If I was in a situation where it was between the two, I'd go this route. Mean time I'm happy with the AVS-2's and Performers though.... lol Thanks for stopping in man!

First thing I noticed was that it's much larger. Those won't fit in line on my old tunnelram 😢 I'd definitely try them in I could figure out how to mount them without going sideways. And if I could afford them.

Have you run it yet ? Quit blowing about it, prove it works, show me a dyno test !!

Why did they never produce the VRS 950 they were advertising?
@BareRoseGarage6 ай бұрын
Not sure. As of right now all they offer in it is the 6, 7 & 850 cfm's. I wonder if they are testing the waters (and recouping some of the production costs) with these before they bust out the bigger cfm's.
@rileysrebuilds4356 ай бұрын
It is coming, we saw them testing the 950 and 1050. They might take a while, but it is because they are testing, testing, testing. I can't wait for the 950....
