you are spot-on . RR is fantastic , as is marbles , they feel fab in your hand , i love case , got a few , wish i had a few more , a decent case is £75 even £100 , thats about a days wages here for a working man if you know what i mean , getting a case is a commitment not only to spending the money , so RR its a chance to play with the big boys with out getting your hands burnt . as always stuff costs more in the uk , it is what it is , much love keep on keping on

They really did a nice job on mine. I have the Rough Ryder RR881 Sowbelly in tobacco bone & I have been comparing it to Marbles D2 also. I've been saving up cardboard to see how much longer D2 holds up compared to 440a. The Marbles Sowbelly in 440a is only 2 dollars cheaper than the D2 micarta one. I'm definitely getting more Marbles D2 in my knife future.

I asked Andy at an SMKW live if Marbles & Rough Ryder shared the same tooling & he said they are both made in the same factory in China. V

Man these are both sweet looking knives. I cannot wait for my D2 Marbles to arrive. I have a few from the green micarta Rough Ryder series - looking forward to comparing them! Thanks for showing these!

THE EDC DEN they are sweet as a matter of fact I ordered the lockback D2 I love it
@theedcden55154 жыл бұрын
@@jerseyknifeguy6382 Awesome. I passed on the D2 lockback but only because I had recently gotten a Buck 112 Ranger (not that they are the same knife, but single blade, lockback, clip point, enough similarities... So I got the D2 Trapper, Jumbo Trapper, and Sowbelly. I can't wait!

I think the quality difference is only because they are getting better at making them . They are made in the same place by the same people . Those people are just getting better . The new rough Ryder's are amazing.

This is where I’d like to see traditionals going... traditional styles and cover materials, but with better steels for the blades. The only Marbles knife I have is a Barlow with a 440A blade. I’d like to see the same genuine rams horn handle, but with a 440C blade.

or 1095/5160/T10 or other good high carbon non-stainless steel blade. I like a nice patina on my blades. I loathe "mirror polished" fingerprint and smudge magnets.

Hello Pete. If you like Marbles and i know you like hunting scenes, go on SMKW and look at Marbles clasp knife in black bone. Bass, deer and eagle. Have a look just for fun. Stay cool, stay calm and stay safe my friend.

my D2 sowbelly has great walk n talk. Blade pull is a consistent smooth "5" for all three blades. Factory edges are even, blades are sharp out of the box.
@stevehuffman7453 Жыл бұрын
High quality? (GOOD) Case or better fit and finish? Centered blades/NO blade/liner rub, Excellent blade heat treat, even grinds, and sharp out of the box on the Rough Rider/Ryder and Marbles?!? 🤯🤯😳 Old news. 🙄 Out of 60 plus RR, I've had ONE with a minor defect. A (Large) Smooth White Bone Coke Bottle pattern had a small crack at the center pin, pile side. "Big Deal". I have Case knives with the same cosmetic issue. Cracks at the pins with bone covers can AND DOES happen regardless of brand and price point. 🙄 A drop of the same off brand super glue fixes the problem, regardless of brand and price point of the knife. Since it does not affect the functionality, a cracked cover is just a minor cosmetic issue. 😇 My RR all have a reasonable 4 to 5 pull on all the blades. (the stockmans all have a Buck 301-ish 4 pull 🥰 on all the blades. The canoes, moose, barlows, and other patterns are a 5 ON ALL THE BLADES ON EACH KNIFE.) Those with a half stop are a smooth ~5.5 pull. RR has consistently had the sharpest edges out of the box of all the new knives I've bought in the last 11 years, even beating my Buck 301 and several Buck 110's in out of the box sharpness.
