I have the Joker Lynx and let me tell you, the fit and finish on these Jokers are extraordinary, like I almost don't want to use it. It seems like some brands, charge way too much. Joker has become my favorite knife Co. I just bought the Joker Ursus knife . It came to $100. W/green micarta handles, full tang Böhler N695 flat grind blade, W/Hardness of 58 HRC. It has a very sturdy Leather Sheath and the craftsmanship is Precise, on all Joker knife products. The ferro rods are even matching the micarta handles, engraved (joker) W/g10 liners and metal inserts for the elastic lanyard hole, that matches the pins on the knives handles. Blew my mind for the price

Agreed. Also, here in europe, Joker knives are a lot cheaper than the Garberg as well as most other knives of similar specs.

I too have both the Garberg and the Ember, the Ember being the flat grind version. To process wood I prefer the Garberg, but that's mostly because of the grind. I think I like the Ember better for chopping/debranching. The thing that made me put the Ember away in the drawer is the handle: I find it thinner than the Garberg's and so I find myself increasing the grip on it to compensate and the hand gets tired soon, while the Garberg has a fuller belly and it fits better in my hand, thus reducing grip effort. It's highly dependent your hand though.

Fair comparison. Thank you. I own the ember and a mora companion HD. The ember is a great fit for my hands but I gravitate back to the HD for comfort.

I have the stainless Garberg. I had to remove the micro bevel on mine now it's a much better cutter. The other knife I use a lot is the BPS adventurer. It was probably the sharpest knife ive ever bought. I really like both. I'm not the biggest fan of the Garberg sheath. I like the concept but it doesn't hold it as well as I like. I'm planning on making a kydex sheath for it. That sheath you bought looks great and makes the knife much more useful. Last thing I want is to be looking for my knife in the woods because it fell out. 😊

Yeah ...... Put me down for one of each. Really great knives, the both of them. I don't mind the cheapo (but super functional) plastic sheath for the Garberg. And, it goes without saying, the Ember sheath is a wonder to behold. I say, get 'em both and you're covered. Now, on to a good camp kitchen knife, w/flat grind, stainless, maybe 4 in. blade, drop point. Something easy to clean up and store. I saw a Ganza (Chinese) that seemed to fill the bill. Unbelievably ... uh, inexpensive. A Victorinox Venture for 5 times the price but with a crappy sheath.

I prefer Garberg to any blade similar. I prefer Swedish to Spanish everyday all day. I prefer Kydex to all other kinds of sheaths. I prefer Mora to all other Knife factories. Thanks for comparison and keep it up 🔪

I think the main difference between the two is the Joker has a full tang through the handle whereas the Mora has the fishtail type. Maybe I'm a knife snob as I tend to buy extrema ratio blades but for a ton, the joker isn't a pricey blade. Nice review as always JC. I like the kydex sheath you showed.

What do you mean by fish tail tang?

If you mean the thin style tang? that is on the cheaper moras that have a 3/4 tang that is thinner, the garbergs tang is the same shape as the handle and slightly wider than the blade itself all the way through.

You are mistaken .The Mora Garberg has a full tang . Most Moras has an enclosed 3/4 tang and are very difficult to break , particularly in normal use.

The Garbergs Grind sucks. It doesnt Cut well. And the bladeshape has too much belly
