Schuberth has released the successor to the Schuberth C4 helmet, the schuberth C4 Pro. It is a modular helmet meant for touring riders looking for the best quality available. At first sight the C4 Pro doesn’t show any big changes to the original C4. But nothing is less true. This flip up helmet has been improved on many points, some of which had caused difficulties with C4 modular helmet. Some of the issues we experienced with the previous model, was the home made anti-fog lens. This was by far the most common warranty issue with the C4 at Champion Helmets. No big trouble, because the customers simply got a new pinlock and problem solved. But some of the other issue were less easy to solve. The ventilation clip on the chin bar sometimes also let loose. Schuberth responded very well on these issues. But before we jump into what's new about it, it is good to mention where the new C4 is positioned. The Schuberth C-4 Pro is a very high-end modular helmet. The best comparison could be made with its all time-rival the Shoei Neotec 2. The last 10 years the market of Flip-Up helmets has pretty much been dominated by Shoei and Schuberth. But there is a serious challenger in the form of AGV Sportmodular. But unlike Shoei and Schuberth, AGV hasn't really earned its stripes in that modular helmet market just yet. So that leaves the Shoei Neotec 2 as the strongest challenger of the Schuberth C4 Pro. It doesn't get much better than these two basically. But one should ask himself if all these luxurious features and benefits are something you really need from a motorcycle helmet? There are some pretty good helmets in the mid-range category such as HJC RPHA90, Shark Evo-One 2 and the Roof Boxxer Carbon which will give you that same high-end taste but for a much more affordable price. They also with comfortable fit and integrated sun shield and stuff like that. But not quite just like the Neotec 2 and the Schuberth C4.

Great review. Just wanted to ask. I remember watching a video comparing C4 and C4 pro and I remember the reviewer mentioned that the pro is much better: quality, noise and even head shape was different (round vs oval). Am I getting confused between the C4 original to the C4 basic? Does the real only differences between the basic and the pro are the one mentioned in this video here? What about noise, ventilation, comfort, wind and etc - are they function exactly the same?

Hi Tomer, that's correct, the C4 Pro will be better all around. Currently, the two helmets are labeled as either the C4 (Basic) and the C4 Pro. In this video, we've tried to cover the major differences between the two helmets like the comms system, price, and weight. The head fit is slightly adjusted between the two, with the C4 Pro being slightly rounder. Otherwise the two helmets will be similar for noise, ventilation, and comfort. The changes here are that the C4 Pro has been built to have sturdier vents as well. What do you think of the two helmets?

Champion Helmets Thank you for the reply. Well, for me, I’m in between the C4 Basic and the Neotec II. I’m looking for the lightest and the quietest helmet because I’m working on the bike and spending a lot of hours with the helmet on. I don’t need the comms so the C4 pro is not an option for me but between the C4 basic and the Neotec II, I think the advantage goes to Schuberth, just because it’s a bit lighter. The only thing I still need to check is the weather and wind behavior - hopefully I will be able to take them both for a test ride.

We're inclined to agree that the Schuberth would be better in this case. It will be lighter, less bulky than the Neotec 2, and also much quieter. Nonetheless, we'd love to hear how you found them once you've had a chance to test them out

Hi. I am am going tu buy basic model. The question is how to install Sena 20s on it. The helmets bottom surface looks too wide for Sena 20 s.

That's, unfortunately, correct the bottom lip is too wide for a normal clamp, and the neck roll also covers the area where you'd normally slide the clamp through. The only option for mounting the 20S on the C4 Basic would be to use the glue plate included with the system. For some good news though, the speaker pockets are fairly roomy in the Schuberth, which means installing the speakers should be a bit easier. Thanks for the question! Thanks for the update, it must've been missed! There is still a slight difference between the two helmets in terms of communication system since the speaker for the C4 Basic is in the forehead while it has been moved to the cheek for the C4 Pro. What drew you to C4 over the C4 Pro?

I have the first Generation C4, not pro, not basic. Was hoping to see where the microphone is on my c4, because it's location is terrible. am hoping to move it.

Thanks for the comment! The microphone on the original C4 helmets should be around the forehead under the head liner. However, it may be difficult to move the microphone from that position. Besides the comms system, how have you found the helmet?

@@Championhelmets the c3 pro has too tight in a medium and a little too loose in large. The quality seems to be great though! Not sure if I have a Schuberth head. I need to try the basic again, I think the medium will work.
