I feel like sequencing is very important and something I noticed lately from taking a year off outdoor climbing (I am also going through many outdoor climbing breaks since the pandemic like you mani :O ) is that when I climbed outside I was very good with sequencing beta. Outdoors helps a lot with that in my thoughts lol, route memory and more rock experience is great for building this. Or maybe rock climbing is just a way of stimulating the mind to actually think about the climb LOL compared to plastic?!

Question: If the quickdraws are in, and you go successfully through the route? What is that? An Onsight Redpoint? Or a Flash?

Quickdraws pre placed is a pink point

@@Mikeyeyey Nowadays nobody really uses the word "pink point". If the draws are in or not does not make any difference in today's climbing. A red point is a red point, draws in or not, nobody cares. Onsight = sending first try with no knowledge about the route. Flash = sending first try with some knowledge about the route (e.g. tips from friends, watched a video beforehand, etc.) Red point = sending a route on your 2nd or 3rd or 4th try etc.

For me it's only relevant that you lead. If you lead successfully, no matter quickdraws on or placed during the ascent, you clip all relevant draws without sitting in the harness, and it's NOT your very first attempt (which then would be an onsight or a flash) I call it a redpoint. But I'm not super strict about it I guess...

@@Mikeyeyey i wonder what was the hardest route ever, "true" red pointed? e.g. project big and all the 9Cs and down to 9As are obviously "only" pink pointed. an onsight with pre-placed gear cant realy be called onsight right? @Mani can you let us know???
