I very much enjoy your videos and never compare my channel to yours because mine is tiny and all about sewing! I don't look at my analytics much, I can see how they are an invitation to comparison but they also show that YT algorithm is really in the driving seat. All the best from NZ

One thing nice about getting older, you stop comparing yourself with other’s. I don’t watch people like I used to, I do my own thing. I keep a buzz cut in my older years and I get compliments from many people everywhere I go, it’s surprising, actually. It’s so freeing to be yourself and loving it. Always be true to yourself, it can be easier said than done, been there. You look great, sweetie! 👍💞💕💝💖

I used to live in this goal-mindset, always working for the next thing, but personally, it burns me out. Maybe I'm too intense. I'm working on a balance to have goals, but not let them run my life, so that I still have control over the pase. I want to take my time and enjoy the serpenty paths, take no shortcuts, get lost in my dreams; not take for granted what my direction is, stay critical, re-evaluate.

I spend too much time online. It’s a way to escape from the things I need to be doing. I did a 30 digital detox one year and learned a lot. In the and, I realized - yes - I spend a lot of time online. Some of it is useful. But, it’s a rabbit hole I can easily slip down into without some awareness of time spent. So, I’m using timers now to cut back my time. 😀

Yes. I was never spending much time but last year I was ill almost all the time staying in bed whole day. I was reading and sometimes drawing, but the yt videos and other subjects I was searching for were an instant quick relief helping me to forget about how I feel. And I got used to it too much perhaps, especially that I am fixed now at least for a while - detox is a good idea, how long should it be? How does it look like? I have to be online a bit because of work but of course it means 15 minutes per day to check e-mails and other info, not 5 hours total, smartphoning in every free minute. :)

I love watching you. It gives me so much peace. I see women wearing so much makeup, jewelry, hair done, uncomfortable clothes and shoes...Jeez! It's so stressful to see, such mess, so much time and effort and a lot of times it looks really bad. So much money wasted for such headache. Minimalism is so calming, I love it!

Thank you for this and all your videos. Ever since I found your channel I have just binged on your videos. I have watched via my tv so I haven’t added my ‘like’ yet….going in on my iPad to fix this now. I am a different age and nationality from you…and have a different life situation, journey and experiences …and yet your messages really resonate with me. I started decluttering recently. Luckily having moved house a lot in my life I used to declutter fairly often so it’s probably not as bad a starting point for me. Yet I still dragged some ‘stuff’ with me that I never use or even look at. I read Essentialism too and have a real urge to simplify. Please don’t feel discouraged. You and your channel are having a positive impact on my life. ♥️

I am glad you like the videos, and I think it is especially beautiful to also interact with people who have an entirely different life situation. Good luck with your decluttering and I definitely agree that some practice (and not having the clutter form your whole life) might be really helpful :)

I felt this sooo deep in my heart , I love uplifting people's spirit by telling them positive things making them happy and feel worth it ,but I often find myself comparing to others and it hurts my self esteem soooo much and in those times no one seems to care bout me ,it's so suffocating to feel that way and I truly hope no one ever feels that worthless ,I have been working on myself and yes my comparison got way better and I'm finally realising my self worth ,so to all my beautiful people out there ,I would like to say ✨u r worth it, u r enough ✨ thank you sooo much lia for sharing ,this gave me a new introspect to look for things 💞 also been loving ur recent videos

thank you for sharing with us ~ but I think maybe part of it would be solved once you try to diversify your content, for example, there is only so much to talk about when it comes to minimalism! My suggestions will be that you plan other videos: like going around the city by bike and showing us your favourite places or even doing a tour of the cities around you and how you can plan a picnic or a meal outside as a minimalist, mean prep, etc!!

You are not alone! I have heard other youtubers saying they compare number of views etc. I compare with people in my job. I'm learning to remind myself that we all work differently and to work on myself and listen to our bodies and mind and how we feel it. I'm learning to trust in myself more and what works best for me. I have noticed your subscribers have jumped up from 16k to 20k recently. You've only been doing it for a while. You're doing great! Keep up the good work !

Almost in all ways, minimalism helps us to change our attitude towards approaching our life skills thus giving satisfaction. In so many ways, it helps us to get rid of comparison I believe. Thanks to lovely minimalism and eco friend. lia. Everyone is peculiar in their own aspect. Comparison in career path and subscribers is not necessary. Rome wasn't built in a day.👍⚘

Wow, this for a perfect timing! I was suffering from comparison recently. I could say ALL thay you have said about your yt channel, only putting my career in that place (it is painting), I see painters who are not-so-special but gain 2k or more likes under every work and sell all, I see good ones painting all days long perhaps because they show so many pieces, I see masters invited to the great group projects, meetings and exhibitions, when I am not invited - and I sell very few pieces a year. I even stopped painting because I have overloaded myself with ideas and expectations - and normally summer is the best time for me to make art, especislly outside, and I do nothing (only decluttering my home). My bf is a true master and I clearly see he is so much better - his mind, soul, and hand, he's trusting himself and accepting failures, when I cannot bear a failure, I think I'm worthless then. I try to focus on my achievements, watching the photos of my best pieces, but the feeling of a true painter around is like a pebble in a shoe ;) I hate comparison. (I don't compare my physical appearance any more, happy with what I have, it is only this career thing I struggle - I'm ashamed of being jealous but I still am!). Thank you for a wise video. I had no idea you can have such feelings, I have only 10 - 12 channels I subscribe and you are the one of them. I always admired how brave you are to make videos being a normal person - I'm sure you know what I mean - normal, not a screaming yellin overreacting puppet like those I see sometimes (and I immediately switch off their videos). You are simply yourself and I value that a lot. Maybe your target are people like me and of course they are not a majority of people but we still need channels like yours :) I wish you the very best and please be yourself always. Love from Poland :)

Thanks for this video, I feel it. I'm really grateful that the YT rating tool within the success of my own videos is gone now, this one really stressed me out. A lot of times I'm catched by the numbers, supposed failures of my channel and comparison to other creators without recognizing different starting points in terms of (in my case) (dis)ability, health, gender, type of content and so much more. Hard enough to compare to yourself and your past performance I guess.

Thank you for your comment! Do you mean the 1/10 or 10/10 rating? I still have that. Or the evaluation of the videos "this video is watched by more of your regular viewers which leads to...."? But yes, I think these things don't help, even if I am really glad we get a lot more analytics here than on Instagram for example... And yes, we definitely all have different starting points that aren't always visible right away. Yes, it is definitely also hard comparing myself to my past self. My best performing month was almost a year ago and back then I thought that I will have a better month very soon ☺

Yes, yes, yes, yes! When I am alone and just doing my things I feel so calm and normal and just overall satisfied and grateful for who I am. But when I go out in the world I still have lots to improve in terms of 1001 comparisons I make that just lead me feeling awful, drained and miserable. This is somehow unconscious and I still have to train how to control and acknowledge that. P. S. Isn't a successful career the one that can provide you with everything you need ♥️

You should make connections. I think you may be focusing too much on yourself as a lone individual. We humans can't thrive by ourselves. Things like youtube bet people against each other for competition to suck as much resource out of them as possible, but that's not what life is for. Money doesn't make us better. Successfulness doesn't make us happier. Those things make us run a hamster wheel always reaching for the next goal, never satisfied, never stopping. Tiffany Ferg made a video about the topics you talk about here, too. You should check it out. It was called something like 'dying youtube channels' or 'passing your peak on youtube' and she dug into how the statistics page on creators' channels pressures them psychologically to keep performing better and better, and to grow infinitely. However, as you know, infinite growth cannot be infinite. (It's not sustainable)

Please stop comparing as it is a total waist of time. Be yourself and be happy with who you are. Numbers are not important. You are not in a competition. There is no need to be continually checking your clothes either as this is also time wasting and sooo tedious. Relax, enjoy life and let people like you for who you are. Other people's life is not relevant. Do you have to keep showing what is in your draws on every video? I think you have done more than enough clothes videos now. Why not do a video on being economical with food or surely you can find other things to do a minimalist video on. What about how to have a minimalist kitchen.?
