Im not a big drawer or artist but i do write music. Its something i love to do and want to do in my future but its such a small competitive world that you often find yourself comparing your music with people who've been doing this for 20+ years and it can really get you down. So hearing this makes me super motivated and think back about how far I've come. I really needed to hear this

This is a super good topic to expand on! (Definitely gonna show this to some friends!) I sometimes hear other people talking about their art in a negative way, and I think that this video really helps to understand the differences between everyone’s level of art/artistic skill, especially that some people don’t realise that others have been practicing for a long time. If you look up to/admire another artist, don’t put yourself down by comparing, but you might want to take inspiration from them - and that’s a great way to get better at art!

The old Kinkajou is still good tho- But I understand where you're getting at. Its nice to think good to have better improvement of yourself than think bad and never improving or just even tracing someone's art. I like that mindset and even though i have a problem making myself just very sad when i do a mistake i would like to be happy more with my art. Thanks Cyprus for talking about this.

I really like your advice Cyprus comparing your art even art-styles to other artist's can litarally lead you to the art-block phrase. You also inspired me three things the way you draw the eyebrows i know this might sound silly and there's other artists out there who draw eyebrows like you do without even seeing your videos and the second thing that you inspired me how you shade the jewlery or gold, silver, bronze ect! And the accesories too ^^

I’m really trying to learn the fundamentals, because I think learning those will really help my art improve. So far I’ve really tried to practice forms, and I can tell my art has improved even if slightly (like I’m using a lot less layers than I used to in digital, and my 3/4 view is looking a lot better). I struggle with front-facing, but I’ll get the hang of it. Also perspective. It has really helped me in more scenic drawings, and I hope to practice it more. The main struggle is shading, lighting, and coloring in general. Sure, I know the basics of color theory. But oh gosh, shading, lighting, and designing are a pain in the rear end. I’ve tried to watch videos, but idk. I think it’s because I like never shade, and haven’t even really practice. So I guess I just need to practice more.

I think comparison is a major problematic thought process for everyone. You can do so,etching and think good of it at first, but them look at someone else’s experience and throw hate towards yours. Don’t do this. Your hurting yourself. Why, yes, I do this sometimes and I give up slightly. But it doesn’t mean I give up completely. I improve myself
