I've got both the Husqvarna Multipurpose Axe and the Gransfors Bruks Scandinavian Axe. Without question, the GS axe is much nicer. But, to be fair, I paid US$57 for the Husky versus US$140 for the GS - a substantial difference. When I went to my local source to by the Husky, I was able to pick through several he had in stock, selecting one that had nice straight, well-oriented grain, a properly hung handle without the poor wedging that yours exhibited, and no nicks in the edge. I did find several that had identical nicks to the one you've shown here. These are unquestionably caused by the poor quality sheath which has no welt and allows the edge to contact the metal rivets that hold the sheath together. As for the sheath? I've replaced both the Husky and GS sheaths with others of superior design and build. I spent about 4 hours re-profiling the head and shaving the handle down to a more respectable, more slender physique and it has been transformed into a VERY capable tool - I believe on par with the Gransfors. The question then is whether the average person is willing to spend the money to have all of the loving handiwork done by someone else or whether they're willing to invest some sweat equity and achieve a similar capability at 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the Gransfors Bruks. Conclusion? I love my Gransfors Bruks axes and hatchets. But, I am impressed with the Husqvarna axe too, once I gave it the final touches it deserved. It is the axe that probably sees the most use around my place. Steve

And that is the question - buy something cheaper and finish it off yourself or the more expensive axe thats of a higher finished standard. Some people will enjoy the work, like yourself. I'm not sure about it myself. The grind profile was just bad and would take a lot of work to put right - all the other stuff I could just fix pretty easy. Time vs money :) Thanks for commenting!

Are you sure you got a new Husqvarna? Perhaps the store you bought it from had it returned by someone who had miss used it and sharpened it wrong and then someone put it back on the shelf. I've never seen a Husqvarna axe that looks that bad, although the Husqvarna axes tend not to be super sharp they do come with a good base profile.

There are more than just those two options, I was looking around a couple years back and ended up with a Wetterlings small forest axe which I am very pleased with , for considerable less than a Gransfors Brux. On the other side of the spectrum is the Fiskars line which are very good axes for the money and you aren't afraid to use /abuse or even lose as they don't require a bank loan to get one.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors8 жыл бұрын
At least Fiskars quality is consistent and they are priced well for everyone to own. I would like to compare a Wetterlings also and perhaps a Hultafors to compare them all.
@oxbowfarm58037 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing both axes up close in the same frame, that was very useful for a comparison of profiles and handles. I honestly cannot see how either axe can justify their price point for what are essentially short handled boy's axes, but they look reasonably well made.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Your welcome - I'm glad you found it useful. I somewhat agree with you that you are paying for is specialty axe, one small enough to carry but can be used for some medium tasks but can also complete smaller detailed tasks too - something you would find difficult with a full size axe. I honestly think a keen edge on a cheap axe and some skill is all you need but I like the history and the craftsmanship of the premium brands and I will pay a bit more.
@oxbowfarm58037 жыл бұрын
I do like history and craftsmanship, but you can get both when you rehang a Plumb or a Kelly or a Spiller etc, and for a tiny fraction of what these Scandi axes cost. They do seem to be specializing for the camping/bushcraft market. For my own axe uses I cannot see every buying one of these compromise designs, but if you actually plan to travel deep into the back country I guess they make a sort of sense.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
I agree - good quality American made tools are very good and are heirlooms for sure. The irony is, if I was heading deep in the woods backpacking, an axe wouldn't be my first choice. It would be a bow saw or a silky saw - much lighter and they cut fire wood with way less energy. Thanks again for providing some valuable viewpoints!
@leonludwig83062 жыл бұрын
Hey I'm leon from Germany I had a dream of owning a hand forged swedish ax but didn't have enough money to buy the Gränzfors Bruk for over 160€ i then bought the Husqvarna ax for around 58€ and put some work into it (i actually always do that since i I like to rework my tool exactly the way I want it ) I removed the Husqvarna lettering and the safety instructions with sandpaper the blade was too round for me so I filed the blade a little straight and sharpened it again then finely honed it with a whetstone is razor sharp now. I think 58€ is a very good price for such an ax and the almost 1½ hours of work that I invested in the ax all in all with simple tools was more than worth it in my opinion I didn't buy my 3 years ago purchase for a second regretted for over 100 € less compared to the Gränzfors you get a good ax you then invest a little work in you get a very nice, very sharp and very personal ax I don't have the Gränzfors so can't say anything about the ax that the husqvarna is In my opinion, compared to the price-performance ratio, the winner would definitely buy them again and recommend them
@TheEmporiumOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Hi Leon - I agree! If you are willing to "fine tune" the cheaper axe it may become better than the more expensive axe for your purposes 👍 I'm glad you like the axe now its to your specifications! Best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦
@rustyyates4214 жыл бұрын
The Husqvarna is a fine axe , however after owning and knowing people who both own and have used extensively, the difference i find is that gransfors bruk axe handle simply doesn't loosen with proper use very easily. Every single axe i have seen ,even more expensive axes, the handles come loose even with proper use. I'm speaking of wood handled axes of course. One can make any axe handle come loose with abusive use. If someone is on a serious budget and has the ability to tighten back up their axe handles or hang a new one, then the Husqvarna would be functional. Your video is very informative by the way ,for a very inexpensive alternative or additional axe. The cold steel trail boss is a very fine choice. The handles are hickory and like the gransfors don't loosen very easily with proper use. The cold steel takes a razor sharp edge and is very durable. 1055 spring steel. They can be purchased for 23 to 35 dollars anytime. You will have to get a sheath. It only comes with a rubber edge cover. It is truly an amazing axe. I have 2 gransfors axes and a cold steel trail boss. I would not trade any of them for any other axes
@TheEmporiumOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rusty for the very informative comment - You provided some great information. I believe any axe head can come loose and not from abuse but just from the wood drying and shrinking. Soaking the head occasionally and keeping the wood from drying out really helps! Thanks for commenting! 👍

Hey look, it's my axe! It's in much nicer condition now as compared to in that video. I bought it from your friend, took a flap wheel and some sandpaper to it to even out the rough grind marks a bit, trimmed up the mushed haft some (but not too much, the mushing will secure it somewhat) for cosmetics, had at it with a sharpening puck and strop, gave the handle some oil, and made a new mask with stitching and a proper welt. It's not quite as pretty as the GBA featured, but definitely in much better shape now. The first time I used it I put a little chip in the very toe and got some dirt on it. (Shame on me for chopping into ground, of course not doing that again.)
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
So Gregg - in your opinion was that axe damaged in shipping or left the factory that way? Many people have alluded to shipping damage but I'm more inclined to say made badly and it slipped through the QC department.
@greggorievich7 жыл бұрын
I think it was a combination of shipping (the chips on the edge where the rivets are would not have been from the factory like that and almost certainly happened in shipping), slipping through QC (the smashed top of the haft was too significant to ever possibly come from shipping), and overall lower QC entirely. Those Husq axes are actually outsourced - either to Wetterlings or Hults Bruk, depending on the model and time, so the quality on the head is still top notch - same steel, same forge, same processes. I think the reason that they're cheaper to purchase is the shortcuts taken on the fit and finish. The grind was done on a coarse belt and never refined, it's not as razor sharp or polished, and so on. The smashed up haft seems a bit excessive to me, though. None of the other axes in the crate I saw had that. They all did, however, have the less refined grind and slightly lower level of sharpness. For me, it was definitely a great choice, because I enjoy working on steel and have an aptitude for sharpening anyway, it was relatively small effort to clean it up to the point where I was happy with it.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info Gregg - I'm glad that worked out for you and at a great price too!

My Husqvarna arrived in good condition, the handle and setting is perfect and actually had better grain alignment than the Gransfors in the video. But if I was to see those two examples, I would choose the Gransfors myself, that smashed handle top just gives a bad first impression. Husq should have individual makers marks so the workers feel more accountable for bad work. But one reason why I got a nice one, is I bought it in-store so I knew what I was getting, I'd recommend this to anyone. To be honest, in some ways I'd prefer a flawed one, so I don't worry so much about damaging my nice one!
@TheEmporiumOutdoors4 жыл бұрын

I also noticed the same thing right off when my Husqvarna arrived. No where near the works of art that my Wetterlings, Gransfors Bruks, or even my Hults Bruks are. But the price is very easy on the wallet and the Husqvarna is still the same quality materials and I've found that with a bit of elbow grease and patience the much lower priced Husqvarna can also be turned into a thing of beauty. But yeah, a wonderful surprise whenever I've opened the box on a GB, no doubt. Thanks for the vid/review.

I have the same axe - and it is night and day better condition, both in terms of handle installation, axe head grind and overall quality/finish. I have it on good word that the Husqvarna's forest axe is in fact made by Hultafors/Hults Bruk, they used to be (until 2011) made by Wetterlings. I paid $50CND tax included at a local Hunting/Fishing Expo for the Husky ... for that price I cannot complain.

Unlucky with the eye, I've got six (?!?) Husqvarnas and they're all hung as well as the Hults Bruk, Adler and Council Tool axes I've got (I think I have a problem with buying tools...). Looks like that one was a dud or mangled in transit. The grind is fairly standard though, most of mine have been a bit rough out of the box. I reason the cost saving vs. the other big Swede companies is clearly in the finish. I don't mind tidying the bit up, the Hults Bruk axes I have were much cleaner ground but still weren't super sharp so they still needed work and they cost more to begin with. I don't have any Gransfors axes, can't quite stomach the asking price for work I can do myself. I can't imagine needing an axe so badly someone would have to buy one ready to use, thus justifying the Gransfors price, but I've been sorely tempted just because they appear to be very nicely made tools. Someday I'll probably drink a few too many sherries and the late night shopping fairy will raid my bank balance for one...

So, refinement lacking, still a fantastic bargain.

I'd just like to say I've watched a few of your videos now and quite like them, you gained a subscriber. My Husqvarna came much better brand new, The fit and Finish isn't quite as good a Gransfors but the head is well made, I have a low RPM wet grinder I used to touch up the edge and then finished off with a Gransfors puck and leather strop. the edge is now mirror shiny and shaves. preforms just as well as a Gransfors at a lower price, although less pretty. probably my favourite axe is my Hultafors (the same people who make axes on contract for Husqvarna) Agdor Montreal Pattern, it came dull as a butter knife and without a sheath, but the head is well made and hand forged and the handle has perfect grain and is well fitted, after making a crude sheath and working the edge I have found it to be an amazingly versatile and well preforming tool.

U got must have been bad luck and u can tell them that and they will switch it for you. The finish on the edge however basically IS the 55$ difference. Only takes approx hour to turn existing edge Into a good one. They're very close in quality for what your paying. Your just paying 55$ an hour to the bruks to come neatly edged to chop.

Hi Mike - I agree - if you want to take the chance on the Husky and would be happy to do some finishing work you can save some good money on the cost of the more expensive axes. They are both fine axes for their intended purposes - just one more pretty than the other :D

The Husk,carpenters axe is very useful and quality. They need a little finish work but I don't mind , I'll save my 60$ and spend an hour getting to know it and shaping it to my exact needs. I also like to put a slight back bevel on the blade as it makes field touch ups far faster

Yeah crazy cant find the Gransfors Scandinavian Forest axe for much less than 180. With the minor things needed i went with the Husqvarna 576926201 26". The grind was honestly bad on it but its really not something hard to fix. If you have money Gransfors is for sure better, if you want a good axe that is close to the same for one over double its price Husqvarna is good.

Any Husqvarna saw shop should have 6-12 of those axes and as of this date they run less than $80 Canadian. Most of the ones I have seen in the last few years are all pretty well put together as well. I can't say the same for the pricey Gransfors axes, a lot are hung for garbage these days and just not worth the premium that is charged. That said Ill take my little West German 2.25lb Ruhr that I hung on a 24" or my classic Hults Bruk 2.5lb that I hung on a 28", maybe my Fiskars (X15 or the longer Chopping axe) or maybe my True Temper Kelly Works Flint Edge 2.5lb cruiser that I just finished rehanging...... Darn it.......I need more axes in that weight class. I just realized I don't currently have a Hudson Bay....

@@TheEmporiumOutdoors don't turn down a True Temper Welland Vale either, Welland Vale and Walters both disappeared as stand alone brands before the early 1970s and because of the way they were generally stamped (at the end of Welland Vale there was no sramp) many have been lost to obscurity. I don't ever leave a rusty axe behind and because of that I just found an old Walters Montreal Pattern for $15 CAD at a junk sale local to me. When Hultafors makes the Husqvarna axes they don't do any quality control to save on costs, since Husqvarna wants an axe at a certain price point. So when buying a Husqvarna axe, it is best to go to a physical store to see them. My wife wanted to buy me a Husky for Christmas, so I gave her a list of criteria and only 2/5 axes were done properly. Though it must be said that all Husky axes will require sharpening, mild handle sanding and generous amounts of linseed oil and beeswax.If you want to match the quality to a Gransfors out of the box, you'll need to buy a Hultafors and pay the full price for the axe. Halfords here in Edmonton sells the Hultafors version for $150, the blade is to a mirror polish, more so than the Gransfors I've purchased.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors8 жыл бұрын
Well that's quite the insight! But I agree - buy in person if you want a good one. Not a bad approach for many hand made items!
@oldmanstoner41535 жыл бұрын
The issue I have with axe reviews, people just don't know anything about wooden hand tools (Lost Art)! Look at any decent hammer an look what happens to handle as it approaches the head? Notice something, not real complicated, in fact kind of common sense! Yet, most never use such tools nowadays, I mean the birth of the "Chain Saw" basically did away with axes. Yet I do love them, if for nothing else as to make me look manly! LOL Go back in time an look at axes an hatchets, I think you'll notice what I mention about handles an heads.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree - most people have no clue about basic hand tools and because they can swing an axe they consider themselves competent. I've been woodworking and wood turning for around 15 years and know how to sharpen tools and make efficient use of them but in no way consider myself an expert. I do know however, starting to learn with a good quality tool is much easier than buying cheap and struggling with it. Good steel that holds an edge is worth the extra money but the rest of the bells and whistle - not so much :)
@oldmanstoner41535 жыл бұрын
I don't know, I rather learn on cheap shit that one doesn't have to worry about breaking! Lets face it, most spend 150 plus on a axe they don't want to risk breaking it because its a status symbol. I say go out an get the 21 dollar cold steel axe, hell even wranglestar was shock on how well it worked, just cheap pieces (head an handle) but put together correctly. I hear you, today would I have ever learn to use a hammer correctly? I mean, just get a nail gun an a saw saw an screw everything else!~ LOL Lets face it the Saw-Saw is like the greatest thing EVER!!!
@TheEmporiumOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I can tell you from experience using good quality wood turning chisels is night and day with cheap imports. After struggling with learning for years - I switched to better tools and witnessed immediate results. I no longer struggled to get and keep a sharp edge and cutting the spinning wood became easy. The same with wood planes, hand chisels & saws. With e general purpose axe you are swinging to chop some wood or split a log - the difference is perhaps much less. I actually used a Fiskers hatchet for many years and still enjoy using it. Does exactly what it needs to do. There is a point however where you are paying for a brand and not an increment in quality. Thats the sweet spot people should try and find :) Thanks for the back and forth - its great to hear others views and take some good points away! Best wishes Michael

Husqvarna is the best axe money can buy, but DO NOT order it online! I visited local Husqvarna store 4 times until I found perfect one. I got some funny looks checking cutting edge, wood grain, straightness etc. But I can tell you it has been worth it, think I won a axe lottery, it is flawless! Husqvarna does not invest so much time to produce perfect axes like more expensive brands, instead they keep pumping out large quantities. So you can end up with crap one, or really good one. Buy it in person and good luck!

So very true. It seems that those of us who are owners of Gransfors Bruks, Wetterlings or Hults Bruks (Hultafors) become spoiled and somehow become more critical when we notice the imperfections found in the Husqvarnas than someone who might be more accustomed to a lesser axe.

When you buy stuff from Amazon, it's not always new. It depends on the seller. So you have to be careful. I would have return that Husky and get a better one. But I agree with you spending the extra for the Gransfors Bruk is worth it. It may be a bit expensive but the craftsmanship is excellent and it's a tool that will last a life time. But I don't recommend buying it from Amazon because those sellers jack up the price, total ripoff. You can get Gransfors Bruks at other retailers that sell them at market value. I remember seeing a Small Forest Axe on Amazon for $289 and I bought mine for only $125 else where. So better to shop around.

Hi, this was just a comparison of the two axes from a quality perspective. There are hundreds of video's online showing the axes in use and they are both excellent. The point of the video is the Husky quality control is not as good as the GB axes and I would recommend inspecting the Husky before purchase. I do have a video of the Wetterlings Bushman axe in use (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGi4d3egidh4hqM) that I now use for my camp trips.

I bought a Husqvarna Forest Axe at a local retailer for $87 taxes included. The axes offered for sale at retail outlets generally have better fit and finish because you an see what you are getting. Amazon offerings can be hit or miss and the Husqvarna axes are a case in point. My axe was quite good in every way. The edge needed a touch up to make it paper cutting sharp. Comparable Gransfors Bruks axes cost about $200. In my view you are better off buying two Husqvarnas.

While i do see why you're pissed by the Husqy, it is an anecdote, yours came terrible, doesn't mean all of them do, mine came fine out of the box and most others do to, the chipping could be fault of the shipping service, perhaps they just tossed it around. I'm not saying it's a perfect axe, it is a budget item and it definitely has it's issues, the blade comes fairly dull and not ground as nice as most would like it, the sheath is crappy and falls off easy, the handle is varnished and is too thick, but all of these issues are easily repairable. As for your ax, if i were you i'd just send it back or try use it until the handle fails and put a new one on, the blade can also be sharpened

I think I made it clear that this might be a "one off" and not to judge all husky's by my bad one and yes all those defects can be fixed. Great comparison! Quality matters, and you did a great job on showing the differences. However the pronunciation makes me cringe, and I'm not even Swedish. Husqvarna = Whose-kvarna, not Huss-kevarna. With an oo sound and no vowel between the q and v. Think "Rockville" - you wouldn't need to add a vowel between the k and v there, so there's no need to do so here either. Gränsfors Bruk = Grensforsh Brooke, and neither Gran's Forge Brooks nor Ground Force Brux. The ä is a letter in its own right, and is never pronounced as an a. And there's no s at the end of Bruk either.

Some logos are not as deep, some edge are ground way better some have better grain orientation etc and on and on. To me, for the money though, you really cannot find a better axe, if you can choose your own. I would not order one from anywhere but if a guy can see one and inspect it prior to buying I have no issues in that. I just hate seeing broken axes in an around that logo area. It shouldn't happen ever. But for the money,find one without the stamp as deep, with a better grind, and it will last a very long time I have no doubt. I think this is just a faulty product and shouldn't represent the quality of all Husqvarna axes. I live in Sweden and here Husqvarna has a very good reputation. It is basically the next best thing compared to Gränsfors. I have never seen a Gränsfors axe that has had any quality problems and I think we can thank the smith stamp for that. So if you want to save some money and get a good axe then buy the Husqvarna but if you want the best that money can buy then buy the Gränsfors.
@olleaberg72712 жыл бұрын
The design of the Gränsfors is also better in my experience (yes I own one), the lighter head is not as fatiguing and it performs just as good maybe even better.

I don't like where they stamp the head on the Husqvarna. weakens it.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors8 жыл бұрын
I don't think the stamp will weaken the steel - the head is normalized and tempered after the stamp is set. I know this is another manufacturer but I'm sure they all follow the same process:- www.neemantools.com/en/creating-process/axe-making-process. Thanks for commenting.

My friend, I’m sure you can take that back to the store or supplier and have that axe replaced or better yet, get your money back! If that is all the more care that was taken to wedge that axe then that is just pitiful! Not to mention the crappy grinding.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
The axe was returned to the supplier - It was a shame as others have had good luck with some of the Husky axes. I would never buy one again sight unseen after this experience.

Yup - Its the upkeep on the axe and the skill that counts the most not the brand! 👍

You bought that Husqvarna off Amazon? I'm being you got either a reproduction or more likely you received a returned axe that someone mucked up! Most every Husqvarna review I have watched, the axe is in MUCH better condition.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Chris - I'm not sure what the full story was with this axe - but I don't think someone could have ground the axe like that at home - that came from the factory. I think they are working to a budget and quality assurance isn't as high as the premium brands. Either way - if you get a good Husky they make great axes!

For whhat task is this axe made? It seems to me its bad for Splitting, felling or limbing. Its too heavy for the handlelenght, the blade too short and the cheeks to fat. If you really want a Workaxe for felling or limbing google Müller Biber Austria...
@TheEmporiumOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I'd agree its a very general axe and specialized axes would do a better job with specific tasks. 👍

well, go ahead and jump on Amazon , several more images of customers with broken axes. I don't see this with gransfors or hults or any other axe pretty much man. it's gotta be that stamp and or a different steel
@TheEmporiumOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Some people have good and bad luck with them - Same as you - I don't see many people complain about their GB as much.

The Emporium I really like the Husqvarna axe actually if your able to pick an choose between them. I wouldn't order one from online, and I would expect to do alittle edge work and sand up the handle and etc etc. of course I see noone complaining about the gb axes. nothing to bitch about. lovely axes, lovely craftsmanship. I do see alot of guys raving about how well they split, which is utter nonesense. will they, yes, are they good at it? absolutely not. lol it's mostly the weekend warrior "bushcraft " guys who spend no time actually working with an axe though. they will split small rounds and for kindling but not big full oak Rounds. they are great felling axes though. I love my Scandinavian forest axe, but I do love my vintage norlund and legitimus in Hudson bay patterns as well. One thing I don't care for with the gb, is the incorrect listing of the heads weight. the scadinavian forest axe head isn't over 2.2 lbs.. weigh one and it will be under 2. where as the Husqvarnas are listed correctly .

you stated that you borrowed the Husky.... that axe isn't new outta the box.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors8 жыл бұрын
That Husky was taken out of the packaging it came in from Amazon right in front of me. The reason I had both axes was my colleague went out the same day after receiving the Husky and bought the GB from a local store because of the condition. I can accept that there might be a possibility of the handle being damaged in shipping ( I doubt it) or by the store that sold it but it doesn't explain the poorly ground axe blade. Thx for commenting.

The Emporium Outdoors just stumbled here and I have to say I just bought a husky and it is 10 times better than the one in your video. It looks like someone took a belt sander to the middle of the bit.. that grind is horrible compared to the one I just got. Spent 45 minutes with a file and a few diamond stones to get a good even bevel and shaving sharp edge. Spent another 10 minutes sanding and then 10 more minutes applying a BLO to the haft... I’m not disappointed in my 60 dollar(US) purchase I don’t mind putting a little work in considering it took me an hour and saved almost a hundred bucks.

I still don't get where the Husq-A-varna pronunciation comes from. It's just wrong. Husq-varn-a, three syllables, not four.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It's fine - Most foreign words are anglicized for convenience. I'm sure many English words are altered by our Nordic cousins too.

with a $55 price difference who would buy a husqvarna? much bigger difference here in Oz my husky axe was $75 and a GB will cost somewhere around $220-$240
@TheEmporiumOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Wow - thats a big difference! I wonder why they are so overpriced there?
@1stcSOLDIER6 жыл бұрын
This is not an adequate comparison and needs to be more objective and consistent. You need to use the axes to chop and (split) wood. Comparing the looks of two axes that are nearly identical and made by the same hand forged method in Sweden is utterly ridiculous. Saying that 0.5 lbs is a difference at one point is perplexing. Furthermore, comparing the top ends by the wedge one can notice that the Husqvarna is clearly damaged at the hardware store not that it snuck out of quality control all the way in Sweden.. I have several of each and use other brands such as Garant and Oxhead. All of the axes are used for various purposes for my outdoors survival team so they get plenty of use. They are nearly the same, the Gransfors Bruks is overpriced and not worth as you say $55. A good woodsman would spot this and determine that they are practically the same and find a better use for the $55 such as a good compass.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
How then would you explain the poor grinding of the Husky? This was not done at the hardware store :/
@gscott57786 жыл бұрын
I've watched several videos like this where people compare the Husqvarna axes to Gränsfors Bruk and honestly most sound like a bunch of whiners. Comparing a Chevy to a Cadillac - Look at the price difference. I received my Husqvarna carpenters axe and yes, it does need some work to be really ready to use but I also didn't pay $150.00 plus for it either. I gladly spent a hour or two to get it really ready to go. Interestingly the grind marks on most of the Husqvarna axes are identical - consistent, so I don't understand why the complaint continue. Not everyone is acting like a jerk about this but to those who have nothing but complaints or keep whining about the differences, hey, go spend three times the amount and shut up. They are, like Chevy and Cadillac, owned by the same parent company and they are certainly not made in China, so if you have a Husqvarna product consider yourself lucky, you could have bought a "Made in China" POS THEN you would have something to complain about.
@TheEmporiumOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Hi - I agree with you that comparing these two axes as equals is not fair. The point I was making and hopefully came across was you get what you pay for. The GB axe is high grade with excellent quality control and therefore you know what you get. The Husky is good grade and quality control is...suspect at best, so inspect them before you buy. Could be great or could be like the one I had. Most things are made in China and this bears no relevance to quality. Look at the iPhone for instance. Its down to specifications and quality control not country of manufacture. I hope that makes my point clear.
