Dude I been saying that for years, idk if they explain why not in the books and that's a lot of reading I don't feel like doing. But at least in the show there was no reason not to at least try, would have made more sense than Renly and the tyrells

@@sufianabuahmad7781 I would have just kept the neck. But he's half Tully so I guess he had no choice. I guess there is a reasons Starks have always married northern women.

@@aronzimas5660 well they had to march south cause they still thought the Lannisters had both sansa and Arya I think. So it was technically a rescue mission, otherwise yeah they could have stayed in the river lands and gorilla warfare the Lannisters

I feel like every player in the war of the 5 kings except the Lannisters ended up losing because they didn't place enough importance on seeking strong allies.

Im rewatching the series right now. Next episode is the red wedding. I cant explain properly how much dont like either Kat or Robb. They are both emotional idiots that lose the war with their eyes wide open. He makes a hasty stupid decision to cross the Twins fast to save his father as if that was ever a possibility. In the process he makes a promise he wont hold to the head of his now most important logistical hub. He lets Theon go to his father without a proper escort. He falls in love with a girl just to fuck her and dishonors everybody involved while also crossing Walder Frey. He kills the head of House Karstark because of "treason" rather than imprisoning him in a light manner like his mother in the middle of the war. Then asks his uncle to marry the girl he was supposed to in order to not get stuck down south, all the while still having the audacity to talk about honour. He was stupid and not fit to rule anything. Ned was truly honourable, his son thought he himself was but after a couple victories and his bannerman chanting King in the North too many times he thought he was invincible and became a hypocrate. He crossed too many people and overplayed his hand too much without anything to depend on down south.

@@muratbayraktar5035 Yea, I preferred the way it was framed in the books, it made a lot more sense all-round despite it still being blunder-city XD. -For one, he's a teenager; eldest of his siblings but still very much more of a boy than a man, which makes some of the more impulsive decisions make sense. -He hooks up with a minor house's daughter after a battle (not some random healer,) from one of the Lannister's bannermen, and feels compelled to wed her not just out of love, but due to his rather naïve, sense of honor/duty. This is a truly *fatal* flaw for the Starks, revealed time and again, and I think that Karstark's execution is the other side of that coin. -He loved Theon like a brother and both were actually quite close growing up, so much so that the concept of him betraying them never crossed his mind. Reaching out to the Greyjoys in *any* capacity was indeed a stupid f-ing idea in and of itself, and his mother tells him as much. He's so blinded by his sense of kinship, he never realizes that his own father Ned had effectively failed to make Theon feel like a true son, which left his ward with a massive chip on his should and vulnerable to Balon's influence.

18k men is not that much. He must have supported Stannis, his father was supporting him anyways. Like the other dude said, Dorne as well, including Vale. They would easily win against Lannisters and Jeoffrey. But anyways 🐺🇦🇿

Robb Stark going to the “red wedding” was an unbelievably stupid move by both him and his Mother. They must have been afraid in the back of their minds, and they should have listened to their fears. As for sending a message to Dorne the Prince would never have joined their fight as he wasn’t that kind of man. He was a coward who wanted to protect his people without making any tough decisions.

= Options. There is no true loss for swearing felty to save his father, to not start a war, countless of lives for a pointless war, his wife and unborn child dying. After all, Westeros bent the knee to Aegon the Conqueror. Ned Stark failed to play the Game of Thrones and cost his life… Robb Stark played war and was betrayed at a wedding. North men should stay in the North and continue ruling there.
