TX owner here, w/ 6 kids. No windows down for us until the recall for both Driver and Passenger side airbags are fixed.. Sure, i knew it was the first year, U.S. assembled vehicle, but i never expected it to be this bad. Tons of quality issues with the TX. Seals at the bottom of the front window popping off. The frame above the front and back door has such thin aluminum my 73yo (180lbs) dad held onto it to get in, and it left a dent. No joke! Also, Gas mileage is atrocious for a 4cyl. I take care of my cars and always just hand wash them. I have an LC as well that is many levels above this in quality. What’s going on Lexus?!
@lsft3 ай бұрын
Definitely using aluminum to reduce weight and USA made. Overtime things will get better with 2nd year and post this recall. LC is an "L" Lexus which is different level compared to the other models

My 2025 NX350h has wobbly drivers and passenger side mirrors. I complained but I am over it because they replaced my 2023 NX350 drivers mirror and it still does the same. They don’t actually fix the problem they just replaced the mirror. So screw them. I don’t care anymore….
@lsft3 ай бұрын
When they replaced mine it much improved. Not saying it's perfect, but at least the mirror doesn't make things look fuzzy.

12V battery issue. The 12V battery gets drained more than it can charge while you are driving

@@blissfuljoy6049 I understand. If you drive long distances and do not use the car for very short distances, it shouldn't be a problem. Many owners have no issues with their vehicles.

I have had my TX500h for 3 months and i'm not very thrilled about it. It doesn't get near the MPG stated and the gas tank seems to be smaller than advertised. My wife bought the RX hybrid at the same time and the hybrid system is way different in her car than the TX. I was told by the dealership that for the gas tank that I should just top off the tank (which I know is not a good solution)...last tank I filled up got 3 additional gallons from the point that it initially stopped.

Additionally I would like to add that the rear seat keeps thinks that there is someone in it and I constantly get alerts about checking the back seat.
@lsft3 ай бұрын
If you don't want the reminder, you can turn it off in the app. If you open the rear door before starting the car, and then you leave and lock the door and don't open the rear door again, it will remind you that you may have left something in the rear seats.

It will take sometime to get better MPGs. After first oil change the car will get better MPG; however, I have heard the 500h in the RX and TX don't get the MPGs , but many cars you don't get the MPG stated. I assume your wife got the RX350h? If so, it's definitely different as the RX350h is more on efficiency and the TX500h is more on performance. I wouldn't top off the gas tank once you hear the click. You could cause other issues. We have seen many people and not just the TX stating that they can't fill the number of gallons stated in specs when the car is near empty. There is a reserve and typically that is 10-15% of the gas tank, but even with that you are still a few gallons off.
@mike63403 ай бұрын
I found out from Lexus that the reason we are having the gas tank gallons not adding up correctly is because Lexus intentionally made the gas gauge read Empty while still having approximately 4 gallons of gas physically in the tank. Their reasoning is because Lexus is concerned about the "dirty sediment" that comes with gasoline and does not want to risk your fuel pump grabbing the bottom of the tank and dragging the particulates into the combustion system. They are concerned that this engine will not respond well along with the fact that it inherently has a higher risk of carbon build up than a standard gasoline engine that does not use Direct Fuel Injection. Remember that despite the fact the TX500h shares the same engine as the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, they are tuned very differently. The Grand can use 87 octane while the Lexus states that it needs Premium 91+.

@@mike6340 yes, the reserve is a lot more and this is the same for the RX, NX as well.

TX and Grand Highlander airbag fix is actually in place as of yesterday. So expect stop sale to be lifted in a few days
@lsft3 ай бұрын

@mike63403 ай бұрын
I asked my dealer about this and they said they have not been told whether or not the "fix" can actually be done retroactively to models which have already been built. In fact, there is some speculation as to whether or not this "fix" can be done by a local dealer or if everything has to go back to the assembly plant. Current owners who have already taken possession should be prepared for a legal fight.
