Hey my guy. Appreciate the video. A few tips I noticed may save you some heartache in the future. During disassembly on aluminum to aluminum mating faces, it’s good practice to go in star pattern at half torque and then finish in the same pattern on round 2. That compressor was ran hot as the brgs were discolored so you may be dealing with warped mating faces. Anyways, star on disassembly may save you an indication (crack). Also, use a wood and a mallet when tapping open or something softer than the material you’re separating. Cast aluminum will break and even if it’s billet the mating faces will warp. You’ll avoid leaks, stress cracks, and brg issues. Especially true when you are working alone. We end up living with these uncertainties in the back of our minds. For me it takes away from the ownership experience. Anyways, just a few things to consider. You are appreciated by the entire community brother and thanks again.

The carbon on the rotor vanes and sheen at the bottom of the casing where the PCV valve inlet is sure seems to indicate the 3.0T sucks in a fair amount of oil from that PCV, no?

So I’m curious how the porting goes. I want to do this to mine. I’m looking out for your video on it when you get there

hello; i have a 2014 Q7 with the same 3.0T engine at cold start i get cyl 6 misfire, once it's hot, it idles well, no problem. replaced plugs and coils replaced injectors then i removed the engine and checked the timing/tensioners, retimed the engine again, and replaced the rings, valve seals, valve lapping, cylinder head test ok, i replaced both intake phasers, i replaced the thermostat, and PCV valve. same problem ! i replaced the high pressure pump and the rail sensor, same problem. i replaced both camshafts solenoids, same problem. i performed a vacuum leak test, using the smoke machine, same problem i removed the catalyst converters, (two on each side), same problem. compression test gives good values, inspect the cams rocker arms lifters, all looks new ! what do you think ?
@AudiC7Owners4 ай бұрын
The only think you didn't mention was checking the intercooler cores located in the supercharger. If those are leaking then they will cause misfires.

Hi Cameron, do you know if it's normal for the motor screw bearings to go bad? After going dual pulley 207mm my car slowly began to lose power under WOT and the squealing sound is coming directly above where the gears and bearings are located

It isn't "normal" but it isn't unheard of either

Strange, I have read that the TVS R1320 can have an integrated electromagnetic clutch. Now I don't have one on mine and it looks like you don't have one on yours either. Haven't been able to find a replacement part online either

Hi I’ve just stripped mine down, your right about the smell, is it possible to remove the rotors from the gears ? Think I’ve blown some dirt in between the rotor and the back of the gear cover
@AudiC7Owners10 ай бұрын
To be honest I'm not sure. Maybe use compressed air to clear it out of there?
@hardys92747 ай бұрын
Do not remove the fans from the gear. They are Press fitted and the tolerance is very very small. You likely won't be able to assemble them properly.

Cast aluminum, porting does them well if done right, a good finish is crucial for corrosion resistance and flow... dimples ftw
