I have a 29gallon tall axolotl aquarium. The empty space bored me so much so i began to add. A few year later i have a fully planted tank with dozens of Rili / red cherry shrimp , Neon tetra fish , and my wild type axolotl. Finding an equilibrium was hard with the axolotl eating everything but it adds to the depth and complexity of my aquascape.

Mind if I ask how big your tank is?

I’m desperate for an axolotl but I’m also completely terrified of killing it. I had a bit of a rocky entrance into the fish hobby (as I’m sure many of us did) and the needless fish deaths still haunt my conscious. But somehow an axolotl seems a more important and valuable life and I’m be heart broken if I killed it through lack of proper care. 😬

Don’t worry. As long as you don’t let them get too hot they’re actually relatively hardy. Been keeping mine for nearly 7 years now and I have had no issues.

Hi! New Axo mom here . Love the video and how informative it was 🙏🏽 curious if you can go more in-depth on the water , I’ve joined several Facebook groups and there’s a large focus on “cycling “ the tank. Where I bought my Axo from suggested just as you did with clean , filtered chlorine free and one should be good. The fb groups do their method to assure ammonia and nitrate /nitrite levels by adding beneficial bacteria i believe , and once levels are correct (some claim takes weeks -months to make) you can add your axolotl to the tank . As the axo waits they’ll have them in a tub where regular / daily water changes are done . I’ve been watching care videos and nobody explains to this depth and wonder if it’s necessary ? Thanks

Olá, tudo bem? Você ainda tem a criação de camarões em caixas de plástico? Conheci seu canal recentemente e também estou pensando em utilizar caixas do tipo conteiners de plástico para aumentar minha reprodução.

You might want to edit your video slightly Ive bred my axolotl and your description is accurate until you say she carries the eggs inside her for 2 weeks After they do their dance she will absorb the sperm and start laying eggs in a few hours and will continue to lay them for 24-36 hours and they will hatch in-between 7-14 days based on water temp

Sir do you know if I should use soap when I put my hands into the tank? Because. My cycle crashed 1 day later after I put my hands into the tank (When I used soap)
@pasito66054 ай бұрын
I always wash my hands with soap before touching my tanks. i thoroughly wash the water off every time, then dry my hands, then after drying i rinse them again then start w my tanks
@BIBLE-UNBUTCHERED24 күн бұрын
I use vinegar to strip any grime and oils/lotions etc. - up to mid forearm. With a double or triple thorough rinse. Soap kills

maybe if u train them into it. If you do it would have to be very high in protein. Look into hikari sinking pellets
