America: The Full English does contain one controversial ingredient, black pudding. England: Nah mate, there's a controversial ingredient on that plate alright, but it's the hash browns! You don't know what sort of argument you just started. 😄

Another nice video! Just got back from our latest trip and did hit some recommendations from your videos and guides (not British dishes...). Totally different from Dishoom, but we splurged on dinner at Gymkhana. I think that's our new every trip splurge! Indian food has always been amazing in London. And then we got hit with some sort of bug, and there went our other eating out plans...

Feel the need to correct you Jess, fried potatoes are not part of a full English breakfast, as soon as you add them or chips it becomes lunch. Black pudding is a traditional part of a fry up. Also Dishoom is a chain restaurant, not the real deal. If you want to eat real vegetarian Indian food head to Euston's Drummond street just up the road, or head out into the suburbs of Wembley and Kingsbury/Queensbury.

I'm a big fan of the ploughman's lunch and that is quintessentially English. No arguments on the two deserts but you could do an entire episode on English puddings (and maybe you should) . I'm a fan of the summer pudding. I missed out on the roast when I was there a few weeks ago as a lot of the kitchens didn't open for the evening service

@@keithhealing1115 chipped potatoes were from Portugal . The fried fish bit came from Morocco. The idea of it being the UK national dish comes from ww2. No rationing on fish and spuds grow under you.
@keithhealing11157 сағат бұрын
@@markadams738 Fish and chips were popular in the UK before WW2, thanks to the railways allowing fresh fish to be transported rapidly. It just surprised me that the first Indian opened 50 years before the first chippie - particularly with the overt racism and fear of "foreigners" that is rife now.
@markadams7386 сағат бұрын
@@keithhealing1115 I've always found it odd that it is labelled as a national dish though. I read it was Ww2 that created that myth although as you say it was popular before then.

Hi Jess so glad to see you once again. I made this video a fav for when I visit London again in September I will have to go and try these out. I, like you, have been a vegetarian and thank goodness I can rely on the UK for so many options unlike the US. Jess, you are on of my favorites along with Hannah Ricketts a vlogger and Fil Henley a muscian both by the way are British ! So Jess, you really scared my when you had that non veggie meal at first from The Breakfast Club -Whew... Was wondereing though,,would hope the gravy is not beef stock? I did try the Pasty in Bath England first time and I enjoyed it and then at Paddinton so that will be a go to when I come back to UK. Be well from Howard. USA
