Don't follow his instructions your truck will be burning on the side of the road like mine! You need to burp the system a special way! Not his way and you need a special funnel to remove the air. I'm telling you STOP 🛑 my truck just broke down today after following his video to every detail and I am not a dummy I know how to fix things.

If you take out your thermostat and the in and out hoses of your radiator and run water through them, you will achieve the same goal but you just do it all together, right?

I changed water pump, thermostat, flushed radiator, heater core. My cabin heater is still not working, blowing cold air and my truck is over heating? Do you know how to fix this problem?

So I followed your instructions completely to the T in every detail! Its now burning on the side of the highway!! I completely drained it so I could add a new thermostat. I removed the hoses and I flush them out like you show and some of your videos. A flushed out the radiator there was no gunk. Anyways then I go to add coolant into the radiator. I make sure it's filled up and then I start the truck like you said and then I'm burping the system letting all the air bubbles out with the radiator cap off which i hear isn't good. And wait until the bubbles stop.. im pressing hoses and hitting the gas every now and then just to make sure they're all there are bubbles are out. This isn't how you completely get all the air out of a 2009 Dodge ram 1500 apparently. My truck ran extremely hot and then I guess my new thermostat kicked on and then it dropped down the halfway and then went to cold. Im thinking i am good. Then i hear a weird sound then shuttering then i lose my steering, than my truck shuts off going 70 MPH then my truck is steaming and smoking and then literally caught fire 🔥. So awesome I made sure my bleeder valve was up at the top like you mentioned. I waited for all the air bubbles to stop I pressed all the hoses to make sure there was no air everything seemed fine. I made it up to a store and then on the way home about 30 minutes later all this happened so there's got to be something that was missing and from what I've seen on other videos you need a special funnel who are the 2009 have a special little valve somewhere in the motor that releases the air from the cooling system. I mean I'm at a loss I mean now my truck is broken down..

When the air bubbles were coming out, was that topped off with fresh new coolant letting it bleed?
@2010asbel Жыл бұрын
How much coolant did you add after doing that flush?
@autoguydiy4244 Жыл бұрын
A gallon of concentrated antifreeze. Not the 50/50.
@2010asbel Жыл бұрын
@@autoguydiy4244 Thanks for the fast reply!! So that means that only about half the coolant the truck had came out? Owners manuals says it takes 17.3 L of coolant which is about 2.25 gallons of concentrate isn’t?

No antifreeze/coolant? Just water? There is no corrosion protection there. That's how that gets all nasty.
@autoguydiy42442 жыл бұрын
I'm only going to run it a day or two. Then check to make sure water is still clear. Then replace water with Coolant. If the water gets dirty again. Then I have to flush it again. Then there would have been no point in wasting antifreeze. This isn't my first rodeo big dog
