Hello Mike, Thanks for the explanation, this will make things easy for a lot of folks out there. I've been using the independent connection for connecting my Behringer WINGs (Stage and FoH) to 2 S32 stage boxes. Here is what I did: I have 2 Behringer WING Consoles and 2 S32 Stage boxes. I connected AES50A from FoH mixer to AES50A port of Stage Box 1 and AES50B of FoH mixer to AES50A port of Stage Box 2. Then I connected the AES50A port of Stage Console to AES50B of Stage Box 1, and AES50B of Stage Console to AES50B of Stage Box 2. With this connection, I can send out my main outputs from the FoH mixer through the Output ports on the first stage box - because they are setup close to the stage, my outputs can easily get to my processors and then to my arrays. My challenge is, I've been trying to send an output from the Stage mixing console through the output ports on Stage Box 2 but it's not working. Is there a way this can work? If you didn’t need P16 support, you could use 2 Midas DN4816-O over Ultranet, cascading out one of the AES50 stage boxes to get 16 additional line level independently routed outputs.

Hello Mike, we have a weird issue with the S32 stage box we just installed. We had an older s32 stage box, so we decided to swap it out with a new one which we were blessed to receive. The problems are we a have lost the icons for phantom power and Gain which we had previously. Those icons are no longer showing on the individual channel strips. Additionally, they are available on the channels we have connected to local inputs. Confused

What if I want to connect my s32 to a s16 behringer stage box. Will this give me 48 channels. We currently have the wing with an s32 stage box and are running out of connections

With cascading, is it possible to connect two wing mixers to both ds32 stage box and get 48 channels both for stage and foh mix?

We ran FOH and Stage with one cable. and now with firmware 2.0, you get dedicated pre stage gain control at each board from what I understand. I have to see how we did this again. Also we run Midas DP48's off AES50 C out as well with AES50 A being sent to AES50 C.

Hello! I have a Behringer Wing with a Stage Box S16 and an S32 connected to AES50 A port, and I want to connect an X32 to the B port for streaming. How can I achieve this? (Connecting from the Stage Box to the X32 directly is not an option; I need to route through the Wing).

That's very easy. Go to routing, outputs, AES 50 B, select AES 50 A on the right and you can route inputs from AES A directly through the wing to AES B. It routs the channel directly after the preamp so you'll only get trim available on the X32. Select whichever 32 inputs you want on the X32 and you're done.

@@FacuSchwei as a small addon. If you have stereo sources, make sure you route the left side of the audio to an odd output and the right side of that audio to the one directly to the right of the left one. Sounds like a given but I've made that mistake in the past.

It’s not Ethernet, it’s AES50. Messing definitions up will confuse people.

You are correct, the protocol is AES50, over Cat6 Shielded dedicated cable. I often use the term ethernet when I refer to the type of cable (somewhat incorrectly).

​@@proxgs7703 Nope, that is NOT correct. It just has to be Cat5E. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. You are confusing standards, OSI layers and definitions and with that you are confusing people. You could have prevented making your error by looking into the AES50-Standard published by the Audio Engineering Society and the Wing Quick Start Guide: "Cabling for all AES50 connections between WING and stage boxes: Shielded CAT-5e cable, Ethercon terminated cable ends, Maximum cable length of 80 meters". The misconception about 'which cable is better' often occurs when AES50 is mixed up with Ethernet (IP based networks). People will say; 'the higher CAT-number, the better cable'. Well, for Ethernet (IP based networks) that might be true, but for AES50 it is NOT. Using Cat6 for AES50 will AT LEAST degrade the usable cable length. Whilst for Ethernet (IP based networks) a Cat6 cable may be downwards compatible, for AES50 it is not. Now, all kind of 'specialists' will declare that Cat6 is also good, and worked for them for many years and all that. Whilst that might be true, it is still the incorrect cable and proper functioning is not guaranteed. It works until it doesn't. If one follow the specs for AES50 (set by the Audio Engineering Society) and Music Tribe (implementing it in their Behringer and Midas products) proper functioning is guaranteed.

But it is possible to connect a dl32 and a dl16 via aes50-a and use all 48 and 24 outputs at a time.
