I honestly like Louis and Clem more than Violet and Clem. Louis has showed that he cares not only abt Clementine, but abt AJ too more than Violet has. I didn't like it when he was being mean to Clem and AJ bc Marlon (but it was a valid reason why) and I thought it was pretty cool that Violet was sticking up for them but tbh Clem and Violet are better as friends, IN MY OPINON. When you save Violet over Louis, he isn't mad. He's happy to see you despite his tongue being removed. That sad thing abt Louis being taken though is that he thinks you didn't save him bc you didn't like him enough and though this is never said, think back to when you DO save Louis over Violet, he asks why you chose him. He even said he didn't know why anyone would choose him. Violet, however, was expecting to be saved. After spending years with the school, she's quick to betray them when Lilly or Minnie whispers a few lies @ her and she isn't harmed at all during that encounter. Yes, her eyes are damaged but she can still SEE. Louis can't talk, he can't sing either - which is obviously one of his passions as a kid considering he went so far as to get his parents DIVORCED bc his father wouldn't get him singing lessons. Clem spends a lot of time w Lou and he literally randomly shows up in their room to give AJ new clothes and he even checks on him when AJ's sleeping on the couch. That's part of the reason why I like Louis and Clementine - Louis cares for AJ as well (tbh idk if Violet checks on AJ at any point in the game bc I haven't seen much of her in playthrus etc so all the points I just made might as well be poop) My point is, Louis, to me, seems like the better option as a love interest. But I'mma be honest, Violet and Clem are more romantic and Clem's love confession to her seems a lot more authentic and them dancing is romantic too but genuinely, Louis and Clem just have a better dynamic and I think they're more cuter than romantic tbh. Eh, violet feels like she's been abandoned a lot so she would take it far more personally than Louis would. It's obvious she has issues about being an outcast or not feeling she'll be fully accepted by anyone, so it's understandable why she's made. She feels betrayed. I like both tbh. Clem resolves violets issues stated above if she chooses her, making her feel more secure and welcome in the world. Whereas, she makes Louis more mature and realise what's at stake instead of messing around so much. I like both aspects imo. 😊

Ok look: I like Violet as a character. I think she's great, I think she was established emotionally well by opening up slowly, and I was glad she had stood by Clem during the vote. But as a romance option, it felt REALLY stiff. And I don't like thinking how she would do with Clem considering how abrasive she is, and how she quickly turns on you if you choose to save Louis over her. If Louis isn't saved, he has his tongue cut off. He doesn't try to backstab you and he's not pissed at you, he's just straight up traumatized and can't leave. Violet doesn't get injured (yet) whatsoever and she attacks you and betrays you. She doesn't come around until she suffers a serious injury after the boat explosion. So yeah, Louis as a romantic option all the way. I'd prefer Violet just staying a friend. Louis tries to make Clem smile, he's even tempered unless something (understandably) horrifying happens but bounces back quickly, and he was already warm with Clem from day one.

Clem's not quite as hardened and bitter as Violet is. Even though she's also not as optimistic and easy-going as Louis, Louis helps bring out a better side while also understanding where the hard decisions need to be made. This feels like a complete love story for Clementine, with her ending up with Louis. I feel genuine love between them, and you see them fall for each other. It has a more natural easement in them building a real relationship. In fact, Louis is the only main character you actually have to put in the effort to want to pursue a relationship with him and try to rebuild that relationship after episode 1. Because there is an unavoidable conflict between him and Clem after episode 1. This is a realistic approach to mending a relationship when you hurt somebody with your actions and try to be humble about it and want to pursue them. I also love how Clementine and Louis challenge each other and call out the other person when they did wrong, realize their error, and try to be sincere and apologize for their behavior. And the fact they both influence each other as well. Clem influences Louis to be a bit bolder in life, and a proctor and fight for her, AJ, and everyone at the school. This is why he wanted to practice his archery skills with Marlon's bow instead of boarding up the back hallway because he wanted to fight and not be on the sidelines. The words Clem used, "I thought you were more than that." really got to Louis, I think, and pushed him to want to be more proactive. And Louis also had a role in influencing Clem to be softer and grow softer, and have fun and enjoy life instead of in survivor mode. The last time we saw this side of her was in season 1. Another thing, too, is AJ gets more animated and so excited to see Louis than he does with Violet. Like how little Clem did with Lee back in season 1. AJ also has the same animations as little Clem did when she hugged Lee, and AJ does the same thing when he hugs Louis in Take Us Back. Connecting the final season to the first season and making Clem's story come full circle with Louis as Clem's romantic partner.
