This is the kind of video I enjoy more, because I get to learn more from the way you paint!!! I would even watch the way you thin your paint and do other little details.Thanks a lot!

Great video to learn layering! I am following this on an ogre as well. It becomes really fun when you find the correct water/paint ratio!

Amazing paint job. I like watching your style with a brush instead of airbrushing, thanks

Please make more videos in this format - I would buy almost any model to follow along with this level of detail... I really think if you put more out of this type of video, there would be more people that would come to realize the value of this format. And please pick something you can link as an affiliate!

Thanks for another great video. It's nice to have these these deep dives occasionally. Also the music is just about perfect. Its subtle and doesn't draw attention to itself. But the rhythm and tune add just enough interest to draw attention to the subject on the screen. I like it.

Great vid, because it shows perfectly how you build the layers of lighter shades (quite confidence inspiring!)

This is something that I can get in to. I like your style of painting and was hoping for an extended version, in which you speak about how much time or layers more specifically. Really awesome video. Thank you. I think that I will watch it again.

Great video. Total noob here and started using wet palette and I am constantly thinning my paint out way too much. I am adding 1 drop of water to 1 drop of paint, but that obviously is too much for the undercoat. Any tips or tuts on this subject would be awesome! Thank you for this great content!

Thanks for the great video! What kind of base are you using in the video, and what kinds of grit?
@ThePaintingClinic4 жыл бұрын
40mm base I buy in bulk off of Ebay. Sand I sifted myself plus GF9 medium and rocky grit.

What type of tile do you like to uses? How easy are they to clean? I got some plexiglass scraps have you ever tried that for a pallet?
@TheRunesmythe4 жыл бұрын
In an older video he talks about cleaning his palette; he just runs it through the dishwasher once it gets too messy. So, judging by that, it would seem that the tile is pretty easy to clean.

It's hard to tell how much time has passed between applying the layers with it sped up. How do you stop tearing layers of previously applied paint? Are you using a slow drying medium? Or has there been enough time for the previous layer to dry so the tearing doesn't happen?
@ThePaintingClinic4 жыл бұрын
Applied properly each stroke of the brush dries in about 10 seconds. If it takes longer then you have too much moisture on the brush.

Any idea which specific mini this is? Tried searching for Ogre on Reaper but can't seem to find it.

For me, I prefer the layering style of mini painting, but the are aspects of the sketch style that I like as well (they are somewhat different right?). Do you know of anyone that combines the two techniques particularily well?
@TheRunesmythe4 жыл бұрын
If you haven't already heard of him, I recommend checking out Vince Venturella's channel; most of his display and competition stuff starts off very sketchy and then he shows how to transition from there.

Is this a metal mini, or Bones? IIRC, this is part of the Reaper Bones 5 KS expansion that's putting all the dungeon dwellers into Bones. Is that this, or is this the metal version?

Bone Black.

So your paint to water ratio is an average of 1 drop paint to 3 drops water, then? And 1 drop paint to 4 drops water, depending? Also, stupid question; how large are the drops in question? Trying to improve my layering game.
@eyaldiskin36654 жыл бұрын
its more important to get a feel for how diluted a paint is, than to follow a specific dilution formula. different paints are thicker or thinner naturally (even paints from the same brand)
@ThePaintingClinic4 жыл бұрын
I've been doing this for so long I really do it by eye and feel. The ratios are for your benefit and not exact, but yes, more water than paint. "Drops" is the best way I can explain it, but it just refers to water being added and not literal drops.
