Awesome work mate, can I ask why did you wet the last sand of primer on the bonnet etc? With wet and dry? Thank you

Dry to get mostly into shape all the way up to 400 grit. Then finished wet 600 grit becuase this paint had metallic flake so to get a consistent finish in the flake. 400grit would potentially cause streaking or having flake lay different in the sand scratch

Hey man im bout to do something similar to my frame on my 1963 chevy c10 would u recommend doing the primer then undercoating like u did? Or something different

I would definitely recommend epoxy primer over the bare metal. Let that cure, scuff and then apply raptor liner if your doing it yourself or find a linex shop or similar if your wanting a much thicker coat of protection.

@@charlesolson8367 If your within the 7 day recoat window for SPI Epoxy (only one I recommend) then no need to scuff at all. You can apply raptor liner directly to the dried overnight Epoxy. If your outside of the 7 day window then use this 4" cup brush - amzn.to/3eZmkpB on a BUFFER at low speed just to give some scratches to the surface and then apply the raptor liner.

@@hcr-motorworks 0.58 at first you used the stripping disc then you used the sander to take ever mark off of the car i have the black stripping disk marks and i dont want anything thing on my metal at all.

@@handson3223 i used the stripping disc to take the majority of the paint off, at that time stamp i used a nylon bristle brush to see how it would perform. Ultimately using a combination of the stripping disc followed up with 80grit sandpaper did the best performance wise. But you wouldnt want to leave it in the bare metal stage with 80 grit. It would quickly rust and needs to be painted with a good epoxy primer.

@@hcr-motorworks i really apreciate that man. well i wanted to take everything down to baremetal to the best of my ability then i found then product called fast etch and i removes rust and adds a protector for the baremetal so i wont have to put primer on there yet until she goes to the body shop. she sits and the storage unit until then.
