Quick tip for upgrading machines.... you can just look at the machine/belt you want to upgrade and press u as long as you have materials in your inventory or warehouse storage it should auto upgrade without having to lift and replace

You don't need those two splitters @ 15:45 ish, you can put in a percentage in the boxes of splitters, so you could say, 50%, 25% and 25% to accomplish the same with a single splitter :)

you can also define numbers in the 3 way splitter , 1,1,9 for example , to force 1 left , 1 straight then the next 9 out of the right side.

The advantage, I believe of what Z did might be performance. By splitting 3-ways yet looping back into itself, EVEN with the upgraded Pro Belt, would be performance. The one slot keeps the outbound belt loaded but reduces lag of waiting for a belt to clear. The Pro Belt might be fast enough to not need it, but the regular belts would probably slow busy segments of belt... It would be the third direction that would suffer, as it has to wait for the second item to be pushed after the second.

If you press U on a belt or building you already have an updgrade for, if you have the required materials in warehouse or inventory, it will upgrade it in situ, and you dont need to delete anything :)

Hey Z! Love the new series on this game! I wanted to say something about the double splitters, but others have explained it better than I could, so another remark from me. You are talking about connecting the 2 asteroid-cathing-wings with stairs , but what about using solar panels for that? It is both looking good and also a great source of power!

You probably need to check your pipe to belt machines, they will buffer materials and give you the impression your machines are keeping up when actually it's just that they are storing materials.

Not sure if you know, you can reverse the inputs and outputs on some machines, including the warehouse. I stacked 3 warehouses directly on top of each other in the center of my ship, reversed the inputs on the middle one. Then the tubes can go up and down from/ to each one and look very clean.

Just a heads up Guys/Gals you can dock to a big Island and then proceed to move it around with your station so you can dock multiple Big Islands together and make a super Island

the floor over the belt system looks good with the mesh wall element. ore collection needs to be expanded as your smelters are going idle quite a bit. more mines & harvesters on the planetoid dumping all into ore storage. add additional harvesters on the collection wings stretching aft. double check power generation and make sure you stay power positive get another Astronaut to run the second research unit and one to maintain the Cafe. move all Manned stations, Habitats & equipment up to it's own level with access into the production areas.

It may be time to go off and search for more planetoids with Aluminum, Titanium, and Uranium. Don't forget, you can take planetoids with you as you travel, so long as you are docked in some way.

Your going to want more than 1 manufacturers. While it can do many things, some items take a long time to produce so you'll need more to keep up with production and usage demands.

Im pretty sure you can force out a single sort of item from a storage if you put a blocker on the exit and filter out the resource you want to go through. Im also pretty sure youve done that before..

instead of making a loop that goes back on itself you can input a 2 or 3 in the belt you want to prioritize. for example 3 rods goes into making screws vs 1 going into storage. you don't have to keep it at 1 to 1. I like your old set up better. it's not so looped back on itself. you could have just left it alone and delete the ones on one side to make the more advanced materials. i agree with you on the storage of intermediate materials. you could have one storage in the middle to store intermediate materials and have all the resource split to one belt. you can make it 3-1 or even 5-1 (the one to storage). having materials loop back on itself is kinda confusing. i'd just build a second machine to combine resource that i need processed materials for. just make a mesh box for the belt instead of blocking the whole floor.

8:00 not have a point to have 2 constuctor. me having 6 pumping plate at light speed because i can. also if you happen to see this save some aluminium bar because you need it for space research. also you should alway use advance version in this game. recipe kinda similar but 3 ore for 2 ingot vs 4ore for 3 ingot may seem little but if you mine the whole planetoid it gave you extra around1-2k ingot and that's a lot. also since equipment in this game can make multiple item of different type at the same time the most optimal way is to mix input but seperate output. there is no point to just put one machine to single product just make sure it not overload the belt so you don't have to move stuff around yourself ( it not that hard in this game anyway. )

You didn't scan the planet to see if there was aluminum to mine, if there isn't any those miners will just be sitting on their pads doing nothing. To progress you need loads of carbon fiber, aluminum bars, and motherboards for research, I've found carbon fiber is the one always slowing me down.

And at 22:42 again. 24:31 and again. -_- 18:25 Congrats, you made it output less plates into rods machine instead of more as you initially planned. 34:23 Can't say is it better or worse since you actually never walking there, but what you really should consider is to update the wiring and move most of it under the floor. The idea with the floor isn't bad, but it's only good when you have no plans to update anything below it in the future and sure it works right. Especially splitters.

I know this has 0 inpact on the folowing few videos? but please for the love of everything. learn to use your splitters and filter the right way. 2 splitters in a row = 1 with front to 3 en right to 1 (for an example). you want to fix your resources and make them quick. please built a temporary coal engine or fix your daim solarpannels.
