Fantastic job, sat with my cobbler for a few hours the other day, incredible to watch the skills involved. Love my Crockett and Jones Coniston rough out suede boots and my Chelsea three boots. Together with Trickers the best a man can get in this price range

This is so cool - I have exactly the same Chelsea 5 boots and would love to have a guy like you close. Wonderful job!

As always totally mesmerizing to watch. There is no way I’ll have anyone else fixing my shoes when needed. And, knowing you a bit, I can vividly imagine how you fumed when the spool went out of thread…

I have watched all of your videos. Your attention to detail is amazing. I would send you shoes from USA if it wasn’t so expensive to ship overseas. Keep up the great work!

Another wonderful video. Chelsea boots are classics from the 1800's. Many famous people have worn them through the eras- Mark Twain, the Beatles, and others. It is a versatile footwear which can be dressed up or down. Even those in formal military dress wear them. This restoration was particularly rewarding to watch for the elastic replacement process. Thanks for another super video!! DJ in Knoxville TN

Just once I would like to see the reaction of the owner when they receive their shoes… shock and awe.
Excelente. E nao e facil fazer esta transformação nao. Mas ficou top! Financeiramente falando. Compensa restaurar. Desta maneira ai pra revender? ..abraço do Brasil.

Absolutely fantastic restoration, my only observation is - seeing as the boots were being resoled, why not have the new heel upper inner leather follow the outer upper leather and go outside the insole and under the rand as it would be from the factory?

That would be a MUCH bigger job and probably break the budget. Few people want to pay more for the repair then a new pair would cost. This job was expensive enough. You just dont do back linings like that. And there would be no practical point to it. It would be better to do that with the heel counters, but again, it would be much more expensive.

Awesome! So about 800 to 900 euro total for the originial shoes + rebuild after a decade. Not too shabby roi ❤

Great job. I love rough-out suede with a bit of wear and tear as it gives the boot a lot of character, probably a bit too much wear and tear in this case though lol. I wonder how old they were and if this was their first repair.

They were app 10 yrs old and had heel liners fixed before. Probably new top lifts as well. Not much more.

Is there much difference in using dubbin (graisse) over the liquid mink oils ?
@adrianwalker28334 ай бұрын
Mink oil has the same nourishing properties as dubbin, but does not give the leather of your shoes the greasy feel and appearance that dubbin would.

Bra jubbat! Har ägaren till dessa aldrig smort in dem under flera års tid? Imponerande att ytan delvis gick att rädda!

Omg suede was revived by Saphir mink oil only??
@Skommen Жыл бұрын
Yes. This material, roughout suede (greased suede), becomes like new when getting new grease.

Is pure mink oil better than the recommended dubbin for the uppers ?

How much was this job? I have a Chelsea 5 in a slightly better condition, but then would need a new welt. Here you did not change the welt

Is that the dark rough out suede?
@davidsonsshoerepair5 ай бұрын
Yes. Dark brown roughout suede, when it hasn't got any refill grease for a while, goes back to the natural colour of the suede.
