That is a nice knife. It would probably end up living in the kitchen between "excursions". A leather sheath would make it even more attractive, in my mind. 😊

What a perfect medium hunting blade at a great price! I love the edge hold on 14c and its ease of touching up

I agree with you, I am very impressed with the edge retention and corrosion resistance of 14C28N, it's a well balanced budget stainless.

looks good! I can see this competing with the mora garberg and Victorinox Venture, pending the sheath I would say its already better!

The sheath is clearly the most budget element of this knife, but I could hardly expect more at $82, but at just a few more $ it would be even more appealing with a nice leather sheath.

The small sharpening choil is great for game processing and the tiny bit of blade that thickens up under sharpening isn’t used much. Just my preference. I like little to no sharpening choil for hunting

I hear you. I didn't want to make the video too long, so I edited out the part where I talked about how a sharpener's choil that is too big makes for a trap for certain things to catch on, so it is definitely a bit of an art to make a sharpener's choil that is just right.

I wouldn't say this sharpener's choil isn't real, it's just not ideally placed. I spoke with the designer after this video came out and they had already been planning to make a change to the sharpener's choil for the next production run.

@ You can't sharpen it without it flaring as it is. Good if they fix it. I don't understand knife companies bringing out knife after knife with the same problem. It's so easy to avoid - bring the ricasso back or make the choil bigger.

Good video and nice knife. I would expect that knife to cost $200 here in Australia which would be a lot for 14c28n when there is a lot of cheap options eg Brother and Eafengrow.

Yeah, AUD is worth just a little less than CAD (compared to USD), which helps inflate the price a bit more + all the other factors that make products cost more down there. I refuse to get any more Eafengrow knives since they love to lie about what steel they use on their knives, but I also wonder if Brother does the same though I have not seen any evidence for that (the few Brother knives that I know have had their steel composition tested in USA have been what they claim, so there is that.)

@ Luvemknives has done recent batch tests on Eafengrow and it checks out. My own tests indicate a reasonable steel/treatment on their knives. Legion Tacticool channel has done extensive testing on wood and they all check out. However, most of the knives from Aliexpresss I have bought don’t equate to the steel they claim when I test them.
