As a scholar main I’m totally not salty that Sage essentially gets Miasama 2 while our new DOT looks kind of shit. That aside Sage changes are looking cool. I’m now kind of considering switching over to Sage.

Played SCH as my main healer from the moment I unlocked it back in 4.2 (when I started playing) until 6.0 released. Sage has been just as fun. But boy has it almost spoiled SCH for me

I'm hoping and praying they keep the double dot maintenance for sage going live, it's literally all I wanted back on my other healers. All the people here expressing negative about it are just wild to me, the other healers are still going to be there for those who only want to worry about one dot and sch is going to be nuts for healing to compensate with it's Seraphism.

I was considering leveling summoner/scholar early for ease, but after the changes I think I'll just do black mage and sage. The extra effort feels like it'll be worth it

TBF, you can do MSQ on one job, all the side quests on a second job and both will hit 100 (if its like the past expansions) pretty much right at the end of the MSQ line. I've done that the past 3 expansions now. Since I'm a SCH main, I'll get a tank up (PLD usually) and so I'll have the 3 roles covered to help other people in my FC :D

I hope single target double dot is intentional and they *slightly* buff euk dys a hair more. Atm if you refresh it at 3s like most dots you're only gaining 10 potency. Still a gain, but kind of a bad feeling one lol. If job balance becomes a concern, just take 5 dot potency away from Euk Dosis and give it to Euk Dys.

I knew there was something about sage that I liked in EW that it became my main healer. I was Scholar in STB and it was glorious. I get to relive a little bit of those times. Still need shadowflare and a fester(dot spreader)!

Bringing in mind how strong tanks are rn and going to be in DT, Sage is the direction healers should go. I mean, since the devs seem content to make tanks require so minimal healing, make healers have a more broad damage kit, so to make their jobs more engaging. Or make content like dungeons harder. Rn it's looking bad for healers outside raiding, hell even in raiding...

If sage becomes the DoT mage, I am fine with that. Sage seems to be everything I loved about scholar gameplay and medical science aesthetic in the past minus the fairy gimmick baggage. I love what they've done with ALL the healers this expansion. To think this is all possible just from them choosing not to update their DPS filler spell animation for once...

I’m kinda glad they gave Sage another dot cuz tbf, it’s every expansion, the new classes are so vanilla and plain that they get boring, RDM and Sam were boring in release and kinda still are very vanilla. Sage was so unexciting other than its insane mobility, which was a great plus, it’ll be nice to maintain two things because I swear as healers and a healer main, I rarely do anything now besides spam my dps spell, with how predictable fights can get. Only time I feel relatively challenged is during first time runs

As I finally finished all 4 healer videos... On the matter of the AoE DoT. I would be okay with the DoTs not stacking, and it being a situation usefulness thing. Only issue is WHM/AST don't have an AoE DoT option, and SCHs access to it's new AoE DoT is 15s every 120s. Is it really too much to ask to be able to drop an AoE DoT on trash packs as every healer? 100% okay with the BLM treatment on DoTs, 1 DoT with Single Target and AoE options. SCHs AoE DoT may need a potency nerf to have 100% availability, but compromise at least I'm willing to make.

well the aoe dot is based of their potency now and you can also just apply it normally so its mostly just damage that you get into potency of actually pressing gcd on other classes

really dont like double dot..really dont like that on a healer job. before you say skill issue , I am also a bard main, and Ive also cleared DSR on SGE, and multiple oranges on savages. I know Im not the best, but SGE already felt very busy and button heavy.

@@MellowMink No it's not. You apply 2 dots at the same time instead of 1. There's nothing to think about and healers have no "rotation" to have to alter to fit the new skill.

@@polmao it just really feels like some of the skills could be condensed. I’m a ps5 player so I have about 32 slots I can easily get to, and I’m AT MAX for NECESSARY SKILLS ONLY, and now I gotta find more spots? It’s gonna be tough

@@wearevenom81 every time i bring this issue up people like happy say you have so many slots available! People who don't play on console don't seem to understand that we also like to use non-combat hot keys like oh i don't know mount summoning, glams, jobs, food/pots. Every expansion I have to kick one of these off my hot bars just to make room for a skill that could have been an upgrade trait or a combo action that automatically changes. I think the new system will help by letting us assign combos but I doubt it will fix the problem entirely.

@@iceberrg87the only good thing about them overloading us is I have learned more about setting hot keys and features with a controller cause of it lol. But yeah one of the reasons I’m a red mage main is you can fit all their skills needed on basically one and a half hot bars and still have slots open to add things like running, mount, and limit break

It is in no way bloated compared to the nuclear submarine consoles that are EW AST and DT SCH. They could trim the fat with Physis if you had to, but SGE is for sure the most streamlined of the healers with WHM coming second.
