the extra weights on the subframe is for NVH, the added mass helps dampen or cancel out some type of vibration or resonance that existed. It's probably something specific to 2+0 vs 2+2, or TT vs non-TT cars given that the former spec affects driveshaft length and the latter affects which diff you got. that all impacts vibrational harmonics and some combination was probably deemed too "harsh" for the tourer car vibe Nissan was going for.

the yellow insert sheet in that fairlady catalogue is from Nissan Prince Kanagawa Sales Company (Nissan Purinsu Kanagawa Hanbai Kabushiki Kaisha) January 1997 (9th year of Heisei era) and it's for ordering a Z... maybe obviously lol the bottom parts are a bunch of options which are discounted if you but them as a set. some are for 2-seater and some are for "2 by 2" (guessing 4 seater) stuff like floor carpet, fireglaze paint (?), safety kits (hazard sign, booster cable, "rescueman" (idk what that is)), GPS navigation

I just imagine a computer game based on your life. Something like need for speed, but you don't really have tuning shops, just a couple of your friends houses with different abilities, such as wheel refreshing, chassis alignment, body work, engine upgrades etc. During the career mode you can make different yunkyard runs to find rare parts or new projects. This would be a really nice game I guess. I would buy it xD official PrizzaMike game

This is like deja vu... dropping the rear subframe was one of the first things I did on my S13 project **mumbles** years ago, including the frozen urethane bushings... I vaguely remember wondering if you were supposed to leave the outer sleeve in place in the video where you were removing the old bushings, but I seem to recall there were differences in what to do with the metal sleeve depending on if you were using an S13 or S14 subframe.

Hey man, everytime you see a weight added on to a part (except brake discs and calipers), it’s almost always to cancel out some sort of NVH. I was blown away, when I found a 4 lb weight on a rubber mount directly on my diff, and my friend told me that BMW adds that to every car, because of some vibration at a very specific speed 🤣 it’s all just weight, no worries in deleting it!

I bought from buyee a couple weeks ago, I was buying a fan for my car and it was 90$ here, in Japan it was $19, I won the auction, they shipped to buyee and tacked on $21, cheapest international shipping would’ve brought it up to 90$ and it would’ve taken a month maybe longer to get to me.

@@s15melb buyee charges a bunch of hidden fees, they’re a bad middle man, but I don’t know of any other sites. If you strictly can’t find any parts in the US, then buyee might be your only choice. It’s just expensive.

Cool thing make rusty diff look nice is to clean it a little with wire brush, and put some rust converter on it that contains some fosforic acid. It's transparent when you apply but after few minutes it changes rust colour to black. Not perfect solution but definitely improves look. At least for some time 😂
