This is the complete build and review video for the newest Star Trek model kit, by Round2 / Polar Lights models.
The USS Enterprise, Originally seen in the classic show in the 1960's has received a fantastic update and featured in season 2 of Star Trek Discovery.

I'm currently working on this model, and checked KZbin and other Internet sites for build posts. Glad I did, mostly for the decal warnings. I am also decaling the major parts before final assembly; makes it a lot easier. Really having to drown the decals in SolvaSet to get them to lay down. Next time I do this model, I'll glue and paint it.

The top decals are correct, but the ones below are wrong. The internal decals are 52 and 60 and the external ones are 53 and 59. Great modeling and review!

Great build and video! Thanks for the resource, as mine just arrived in the mail today! And I will most certainly add my vote for a larger version!!! 1/350 anyone? I will absolutely get whatever larger scale they release because I love this ship! I seriously think my top 3 Enterprises in order of preference are now: 1. TOS 2. THIS ONE! and 3. TOS refit. They really hit it out of the park with this version of the old classic! Thanks again!

I built the AMT Enterprise D with fiber optic lighting. They suggested onion paper to diffuse the light! The warp nacelles had six mini incandescent bulbs soldered in parallel and adhered to a clear armature. I had to carve out the pylons exactly the way you did it! When I saw your first carving, I thought to myself “that ain’t deep enough” ! Then you made them deeper at the end, Nice! Onion paper!!! It works Great! I couldn’t tell there were six bulbs in the nacelles when they were lit! You have some very impressive models! I can only hope to achieve the level of accuracy you put into each kit!👍🏼 Well done Sir

Great modeling and tutorial / review! The one thing I don't like about their paint and color guide is that they don't tell you WHERE those colors go! I just bought the Shenzhou and, I don't know if the entire ship needs to be painted light gunmetal or do I need to vary up some areas with the other colors (like white as they spec'd out on the box).

I'd say 80% chrome silver with a little bit of gunmetal to make it darker.

Do you think you could put a scaled bridge inside the top dome? Obv it probably wouldn’t be super detailed but, with frosting the clear windows you might be able to pull off an illusion in order to hide the lack of details.. idk. How hard would that be?

i actually like the Discovery Version of the Enterprise it looks pretty cool i would love to see a large version of this ship kit but i don't have this kit but it reminds me of the phase 2 enterprise

Hmm... Wonder how well the Enterprise model would stand up to kit-bashing. When I was younger, I wanted to build a Saladin class Destroyer, but never got around to making the attempt.

Up close it really high lights the short comings of either the model or your finishing skills. I can't tell for sure which it is.

Star Trek Discovery's producers and spx people definitely did the Enterprise right! Unlike what Jar Jar Abrams did with it. Great job on your model.

You did a good job but if your lighting these you need to put on a different base. The exposed wiring looks sloppy and not a finished look

Love your vids, but I'm baffled why model makers like yourself never use fine magnet wire. It's easy to work with nearly invisible and can handle the tiny current needed for leds. It would save much time and prevent having to bore and gouge huge holes for wiring.

Im seeing alot of reviews on amazon from so called "experienced builders" of one of the nacells not being molded right(fully) resulting in parts of it missing. Is this for most of the kits? Or are these reviews from salty amateur builders?

My copy didn't have it but I know the other reviewer who had the kit had it happen. So IN know it happens, I doubt it happens very often. I'd buy at a local store if you can and if you have a bad one you can return it in person and know they'll take care of it for you.

Paneling looks beautiful. Im not a fan of the silver finish for the enterprise at all. Makes the ship look like something out of babylon 5. Federation ships should be white.

I got this Model for my Father. He did NOT like it. Too small and fragile. Seriously hope there will be a larger Version at some point. Will love to rig that with Lights.

The STD version of the original Enterprise is one of the few things they got right on STD. Its the right amount of dna to pay homage to the original design with some tasteful updates. This is a much better representation and homage to the original Enterprise than the Jar Jar junk films did. Would love to see this one in a 1:537 or better yet a 1:350 scale all lit, now that would be epic.

I think it's Bullshit This is made a physical model But that Fan made one by Gabriel Köerner still isn't, Because Köerner's Design looks Better and more Faithful But with Modern Spice
