I supported the Kickstarter campaign when these were first announced, as I really was looking for a trench style watch. Vario did not disappoint in my opinion. The quality and looks, especially with the enamel dial, is really stunning. Thanks for reviewing this!

I would say if you have a wrist size of 7 inches or less, stick to the 37mm version.

nice review! i like wire lugs on the old watches because swapping bands is a breeze. and i guess i prefer the look of the Bund strap over 2 piece straps. its nice knowing small companies are still out there making great watches. now if only the dropshipping scam watches would stop stealing business away from real manufactures things would be even better lol.

The Oris Big Crown 1917 is beautiful. But you're right; without a center or small second looks odd on a trench-type watch or most watches.

Imho, my old west end watch sillidar is still better... Unitas movement, enamel dial, fire-blued hands... The casing is chromed base metal, though... 33 mm diameter, 12mm thick... 😅 I got it 10 years ago for around US60 (idr 1 million)… ✌🏽️

Fair enough. :-) I enjoy wearing my 1915 Omega Trench from time to time. But I always have that sense of worry behind my head not to drop/bang it (since it has no shock resistance balance) by accident and stay away from moisture, as the case is not water resistant. With this Vario, and only for $388, I can have peace of mind wearing it in any circumstances.

Honestly, the warranty is there only to look good. If you're unlucky, a new watch will most likely show issue of some sort within the first year. Otherwise, it will last for many years before you need to have it serviced.
