Any chance you can do videos on mud loop systems? I.e steam boiler with a hydronic loop. Not installed on tankless coil with auto feeder feeding only the return of steam boiler thru Hartford loop

What’s sad is there’s two reasons this would happen. Either that was done by someone who thinks they know what they’re doing, and they havnt been callbacks for banging pipes and had to fix it. Or they do know it’s wrong but takes less material, they’ve done it before and ghost the poor customer after getting paid. Either way, it’s brutal to see. That poor dude, good on you giving him the heads up Mikey. Hope no money has been passed off yet

It's not crazy but doing it with black iron is. Look up mini tube steam and prepare to be amazed. An entire steam system that uses 3/8 copper refrigeration tubing. Inexpensive and easy to install. Steam works better and is a longer lasting system than hydronic. No pumps to fail, no complicated electronics, and nearly silent. I would never personally live in a house that didn't have steam. There are several articles on Heating Help about Mini Tube, it is really a cool system and it would be my choice for a new installation because of the efficiency and cheaper installation cost.

Yeah as soon as you said who was the plumber and he said why what's wrong with it? It's because he did the install himself and has never done a steam boiler before, it's not difficult Peerless sells near boiler piping kits and I don't know why you would go through the trouble and expense of replacing the main piping to continue to use steam.

such a sad brand new steamer.. fortunately for the homeowner this system is still brand new and he isnt in the midst of the first new york cold wave of the 24/25 winter tryingf to get good flow.. hopefully he reads the book and gets right on the horn to his original company to re-do their install to proper spec... its sad to see esp when they went ot the expense of all new steam piping in the basement (maybe even the house).. im sure the homeowners aim was to go all new and have a trouble-free steam system for years to come.. at least since you fixed his water heater he'll be able to take a hot shower when his steam system shuts down from low water repeatedly :)
