Fujifilm needs to work on their DIS for video current stabilization is not that good.

I think with focal lengths up to 50mm it’s not really a problem, but especially with telephoto lengths 100mm+ it’s very visible that there’s shake. I guess I have to keep sticking with a tripod for now

I dont think its overrated, but i think there are great alternatives. In my opinion the camera you shoot with doesnt matter that much, more that you actually go out and shoot. And if a camera like the X100 series is something that makes you want to go and take pictures, thats a great camera. But same could be said about any camera that brings you joy.
